TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE SMACKED DOWN AGAIN AMID COMBAT LEADERSHIP BATTLE WITH LEGISLATURE!!!

Today the Jackson County Legislature added insult to injury with YET ANOTHER REJECTION of Executive Frank White's efforts to appoint a new leader to COMBAT - The Community Backed Anti-Crime Tax.

Remember that our blog community was FIRST to break news of the Exec Frank White and his COMBAT FAIL when he was initially thwarted by his colleagues.

And now . . .

IN ANOTHER UNANIMOUS AFFRONT TO THE JACKSON COUNTY EXEC: THE LEGISLATURE UNANIMOUSLY SQUASHED FRANK WHITE'S ATTEMPT TO APPOINT THE INTERIM COMBAT DIRECTOR TO A PERMANENT POSITION!!!

An insider summed this up perfectly . . .

"He simply can't govern. We're looking at a leader in Kansas City who is completely ineffective. He might have been a popular baseball player and people loved him for it. But the Royals didn't do great this year and their attendance was down -- Just like voters and the legislature are getting a really good look at the new Executive and his inability understand the local political process along with the surprising fact that he doesn't really seem like he wants to learn."

We'll have more on this outright act of defiance but right now we're reporting a first look at a formerly popular politico COMPLETELY REJECTED by a local legislative body.

  2. I totally agree with the above he is trying to survive but it’s impossible with no support in the legislature,he is on a slippery slope.

  4. Who is the interim he was trying to make permanent? We all know Miller wasn't getting the job, but who was the appointed interim director? Was it Ortega?

  5. ^^^ No, not Ortega. Just another one of his cronies.

  6. Who gets the COMBAT job makes no difference.
It's a make-work insider crony appointment at best.
And the $20 million in sales tax money generated by COMBAT every year is parceled out to family, friends, insiders, contributors, supporters, and outright grifters. It is one of the biggest slush funds in all of Jackson County or KCMO, which is saying a lot in itself.
Much of the violence and homicides in KCMO is drug related.
The murder rate has been increasing for a number of years in a row.
Is there any accountability for results from any of the nonprofits and groups COMBAT funds?
Are there any adjustments made as to how the money is spent?
Has any group been DEFUNDED due to lack of performance?
    $20 million a year!
Where has the Jackson County legislature been all these years?
