SHAME!!! RAYTOWN CUTS 14 COPS AMID BUDGET CRISIS!!!

Harsh times continue for the inner-suburbs as revenue shortfalls and screwed up priorities have this town scaling back their security. Take a look:

14 Raytown police officers leaving force amid budget cuts, police chief says

More than a dozen police officers are leaving the Raytown Police Department amid a budget crisis. Raytown Police Chief Jim Lynch said 14 seasoned officers are all moving to other metro police departments. This comes after budget cuts forced police to eliminate about 40 percent of its workforce.

  1. Raytown has nobody to blame but itself. The politicans sold their soul, and the citizens, to woo Walmart with a huge giveaway of public money to an already wealthy business. Couple that with the fact that Raytown government has been anti growth for decades, stagnant tax base, and you have the setting. The only thing Raytown has is 5 dollar stores in 2 miles. Other than that, it's a shrinking armpit waiting to become the next Blue Summit.

  3. Just a suggestion to Raytown folks. Arm yourselves heavily and practice your shooting. Sell your house and quickly move to Lees Summi or Blue Springs

  5. Haven't seen Raytown's budget but, based on a long career doing Forensic Accountancy, I'd be willing to bet that any competent Accountant could have found the funding to avoid this mess within two days.

This is just a case of "honest Politicians" at work, if you define "honest" as "staying bought".

  7. Looks like those lawyers on Blue Ridge Blvd in Raytown won't have as many traffic tickets to Plea Bargain.

  8. The cops were not fired. They resigned to go elsewhere. Time to de-certify Raytown and eliminate it as a city.

  9. It is only a shame to those of you that do not know any better. It doesn't take a mathematical genius to look at the budget and find money to keep those officers on the Raytown PD. It should be obvious that the real blame should go to where it rightfully deserves and that is the greedy corrupt Raytown PD hierachy. A police department that houses officers bringing in $60,000 a year plus $40,000 in overtime , a police "Chief" purchasing a new Dodge vehicle , $250,000 home , clocking in $40,000 in overtime in one years time cannot complain that Raytown needs more money for more police officers. If the "Chief" values the police jobs as much as he wants his Facebook followers to believe then he and his minions would take a pay cut so those officers could have the salary they deserve. Greed , dishonesty and corruption are to blame and most of that was and will still remain in the Raytown police department. I wish the officers better luck in Kansas City where they will should be paid much more for risking their lives in an area on the verge of record breaking homicide in 2017.

  10. HaHa! Margaret you're such a dipshit. The Chiefs car is a bitch ass base model Charger. The OT is for an Officer who was willing to give up personal time to teach a subject matter that he is an EXPERT on. You're such a simple ass townie dumdfuck. Bless your heart.

  11. @7:15 Your vulgar language does not show any sign of intellectual seniority but your post does bleed from ignorance. Either you are the "Chief" himself or one of his cronies like the dimwitted "Major" that spewed out how officers should be able to go shopping on the taxpayers dime and write it in as overtime. Oh , and he so boldly suggested that this shopping be done at the crappy Walmart that they have rambled on about. Sorry to break it to you kiddo but there is no expertise involved when it comes to hanging out eating donuts , sipping coffee , and stopping to pick up a half gallon of milk at the request of the lazy wife at home. The subject matter you speak of is corruption and unless it is to benefit the citizens they are to protect and serve then there is no justification for a handful of policemen piling up $40,000 in overtime. If you think differently then the simple one is you sweetheart and I will pray you get the meds that your poor "dumDfuck" soul (it is dumb with B by the way) is desperately in need of. In fact when I said every word that I earlier typed on this blog in the face of the "Chief" he did not even attempt to dispute it. It is something extremely difficult to do when a citizen that you are robbing confronts you with documentation in hand. When the Raytown population keeps growing and taxes have not been raised in 40 years these issues are bound to be highlighted plain as day. Deflecting public attention to a crap hole Walmart and blaming politicians is a sad attempt of distracting people such as yourself. Just trying to argue that a "Chief" complaining about lack of funding is no big deal exposes you as the true "dipshit" here. The model of car the "Chief" bought along with his newly purchased $250,000 home and $40,000 overtime within this last year cannot be justified during times of financial strain. Lifelong residents like myself that keep up with the events in my town call this chickens coming home to roost. I would gladly trade the officers we are losing for the Chief" , the "Mayor" , and the other corrupt greedy higher ups of the Raytown PD. I would bet if we could do that you would see the budget balance quicker than a hiccup.
