KANSAS CITY ROAD RAGE ON THE RISE!!!

More violence on local streets erupts as this town grows increasingly tense as the holidays approach. Take a look:

Drivers resort to violence on KCMO roads

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating two cases of road rage in as many days. On Friday morning, a driver in a gold GMC truck threw a bottle at a semi-truck on Blue Parkway before getting on I-435. Once they were on the interstate things quickly escalated.

  1. its because Kansas City does not have a real crime fighting police department.

  3. Anyone who is from somewhere else, or has lived elsewhere and moved back to KC, know the truth that Kansas City drivers are some of the dumbest, inattentive, disrespectful drivers anywhere.

Also... the most sensitive passive/aggressive. Yeah, you can't honk at someone who is clearly doing something wrong i.e. sitting at green light while all the cars are going past him, flashing lights after dangerously cutting someone off, without the bad driver -- not the good one -- losing his shit.

Kansas City drivers do not understand BASIC right of way laws. If a turn lane doesn't have a "turn arrow" then watch the fuck out. Someone is going to stupidly turn in front of oncoming traffic, not understand they need to drift out into the roadway and turn as soon as room opens, etc. I've literally seen people at trying to turn left on a green just sit there, paralyzed with indecision and fear. You honk at them and they HAVE NO IDEA why you're honking at them.

    So sad!

  6. Require a six month license suspension for everyone convicted of ANY proven road rage incident that does not involve additional crimes (vs infractions). One year for a second conviction within 5 years. Revocation on 3rd. These incidents are as menacing and dangerous as any DUI out there. Problem solved!

  7. Agree on phones especially texting and driving make the problem even worse. That could be a large part of the terrible driving. But shit, if you're not paying attention and someone toots their horn to tell you the light is green, own it. Wave, let people know you fucked up. That's all it takes.

And yeah, Missouri side. I don't honk at black people, I just take it on easy. Kansas side is a mixed bag, I'd say. The interstates are the worst. I've never lived a place where people literally drive 55 mph in the left hand (passing!) lane.

I don't think it's necessarily Kansas City drivers like someone said earlier it's just that driving isnt the priority anymore. It's the phones and their apps and all that shit that make driving secondary and recording, talking, responding, taking pics the priority.

  8. As someone who lives in Topeka I would rather drive in Kansas City Metro than drive in Pottawatomie County, Kansas. These smaller town people have a tendency to drive slower and I am talking about 10 miles under the posted limit and not pay attention to keeping the flow of traffic going such as sitting at a red light or stop sign for longer than they should.

  9. I never use to have what is referred to today as road rage. I leave home every morning in a good mood, happy and enjoying life and by the time I get to work I am pissed off at the world. It's not due to the news on the radio or the weather, no it's due to all those who think sending texts, talking on the phone, eating a meal or apply their makeup while driving to work is normal.

The cell phone that was suppose to be the modern communication device that would allow us to be in touch at all times has turned into the biggest cause of road rage motor vehicle accidents and deaths from said accidents. People are not focus on their driving they change lanes in front of you, cut you off because they all of a sudden remember at the last minute that exit they take every day is there simply because talking with some asshole about the bath they took last night is more important. At stop lights they are the only one in your lane that makes it through the light when it is green all because they are so zoned out with their communicating they can't hear everyone honking at them to wake the fuck up and drive.

What is needed is tougher laws on driver stupidity as in doing something distracting while operating a motor vehicle.

But then you will always have those who think their life and time is more important than yours and will go to great lengths and stunts to get ahead of you in traffic because they can't wait with the rest of the world to go through a slow moving area such as a merge zone where you see wrecks all the time from those trying force their way into traffic from the shoulder because they just couldn't do it 50 cars back.

  10. New rules of the road - #1 Never challenge anyone on the road. #2 Never make eye contact with a stupid driver. #3 Move away from the idiot as quickly as possible. #4 Don't depend on the police to save you in this situation. Good luck.

  11. You geniuses all convinced that there's a huge difference in driver skill on one side of that magical state line versus the other?

Anytime I hear someone make that complaint I know that I'm listening to an absolute rube dullard.

  12. I saw a jackass a couple of days ago getting into it with another car for no reason. When I caught the dude in the truck at the stop light I could see her had his young teen daughter with him. What a fucking moron.

  13. Nobody has mentioned the driver behind you that rides your ass even when you're doing 40 in a 35mph zone. It's one thing to go 5mph under the limit and get tailgated, but 5 over and still tailgating? Back the fuck off, leave for work on time (not late), or just chill.
