Lawrence police: Third suspect in custody, charged with multiple counts of murder

Police say a third suspect is in custody with connection to a shooting that killed three and wounded two others. Anthony Laron Roberts, 20, is in custody according to police. Roberts will be charged with first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder.

Police identify man found dead in street Monday night

Kansas City police have identified a man found dead in the street Monday night. Melvin Blackmon, 41, was found dead in the 8200 block of Lydia Street about 10:30 p.m. Homicide detectives are investigating. Police said Blackmon's death does not appear to be from natural causes.
