Kansas City Monday #NewKCI Myth Busters!!!

Quick round-up of a Kansas City series worthy of consideration for voters who want to stay informed and listen to arguments from BOTH sides . . .

Meawhile, MSM is just touting clickbait about the "ugly" airport.

And so . . .

TODAY WE OFFERS A QUICK GLIMPSE OF KANSAS CITY NEW AIRPORT MYTH BUSTERS!!!

We've provide the FB links to all of these posts but readers have to be logged in in order to view so we've also provided a quick summary . . .

MythBuster #1 - Anti-Airport Flyer

Kick-off to the discussion and a quick look at where tax fighters stand . . .

Mythbuster #2 - More International Flights For #NewKCI??? Not So Fast.

"Ron Ricks, Executive Vice President told us early on; airlines add flights to an airport when the passengers numbers dictate the flight is needed and there are gates available. Remember our airport gurus want to downsize our airport from 67 gates to 35 gates?"

MythBuster #3 - It's All About Trust . . .

Another doubting the wisdom of a City Hall blank check.

Mythbuster #4 - Airport Numbers And The Smaller #NewKCI

"KCI has handled much larger aircraft than our airlines are using today. There have been no problems with gate capacity."

Mythbuster #5 Kansas City Going South By Southwest - Airline lying

A story of intrigue and the Southwest Pilot hub.

MythBuster #6 - The Security Myth

More deets regarding an engineer's take on #NewKCI

Finally, a quick video montage of their work.

  1. Nice effort.

But I think they're about $950,000 short of being competitive with the #newKCI campaign.

    2. What is disappointing here is that a lot of people don't realize that the push for a new airport is so corrupt that they're going to build it even if the public votes against it.

  7. So if the vote is no, will Johnson County build the new airport? Makes more sense out there for all the business travelers.

  8. I wish the "some Engineer's" security opinion would be removed from the table. It obfuscates the real issue of taxes and is neither here nor there keeping the existing or building new. He's seeking attention and is getting it from the anti-airport crowd, everyone else just simply ignores him as it should be. The entire breakdown of his initial description is hyperbole; the breach, barrel, firing lane etc. Let's stick to the actual issues and constant myths being pushed by City hall and their supporters.

  11. KC Star’s take: Sure, the city lied to us, the selection process was sketchy, and we don’t know what a new terminal would look like, but vote for it anyway.

  12. There are ZERO facts presented here. First as has been pointed out, swa is an international airline and is continuing to add those types of flights and destinations. Second, I highly doubt swa approached the city about opening a "pilot hub", which is a made-up term by the way. A lack of understanding of the airline business is apparent here. A crew domicile as they are referred to doesn't require additional gates. It's easy to open a new domicile, especially in today's world where pilots don't have to carry volumes of books and manuals and ensuring currency is as easy as an iPad update. Furthermore even in crew bases pilots aren't just hanging at the airport without any flying assignments. There are "reserve" pilots but the call-out is 2 hours so again, the infrastructure of the airport is totally irrelevant. What I suspect the real truth is as to why STL is getting the new SW flying while MCI is not lies in the poor facilities of MCI. And there is not a "pilot hub" in STL. The closest pilot domicile to there is MDW. This post will probably be deleted due to the coherence and factually accurate information.

  14. Clarkson already moving heavy equipment to a stage area south of the airport.....just a matter of time. The east side don't fly and they won't jack a vehicle just to vote. That leaves Crossroads and Midtown and they are too busy blowing each other to go outside.....let alone vote. Ward Parkway and the Northland will pass the "New Killa City I."
