Jazz museum defends layoffs amid criticism, mounting budget losses - Kansas City Business Journal
Leaders of the American Jazz Museum, an anchor attraction in the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District, are defending the money-losing attempt to launch the Kansas City Jazz & Heritage Festival as a world-class event and say it was not responsible for recent layoffs.
fuck it,lets give em another 100 million
ReplyDeleteMaybe Kansas City Chiefs player Marcus Peters can help with underwriting the District ...
ReplyDeleteWhy not give to the community?
Very Cool!
ReplyDeleteOne thing to keep in mind and you'll never be surprised.
ReplyDeleteNot only are these folks not responsible for the recent layoffs.
They're not responsible for ANYTHING.
How much taxpayer money just plain disappears into thin air in this little town?
Kansas city needs a punk rock district. I bet it would do better than that sad money dump that no one goes to at 18th and vine
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think Manny Cleaver and Jimmy Threat created this Money Pit?
ReplyDeleteIt never was intended to be anything but a "slush fund" in the first place.
Paying a quarter of a million bucks for a Plastic Saxophone that was never played in public? Come on!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we all go there and burn it down? I need some room to destroy, how about you?
My guess is all that funding bought quite a few Escalades for people robbing it, oops, I meant running it.
ReplyDeleteAs dirty as Pendergast was at least he got stuff done that was needed and the people wanted. Black people want this so bad why don't they support it? They say they don't have anywhere to go, well here you go. The foundation is there now fill that place up with black owned businesses that black people will go support with all that disposable income they have. Us white people will leave you alone too, the area can be all yours.
ReplyDeleteEven if we citizens could get our 5 billion dollars spent in the 90's on the KC School District back and donate it to 18th and Vine, it would still be a loser.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't money, it is the indolent and entitled culture that breeds parasites on the tax payers ass, by way of needed votes from the BLACK BLOCK VOTE that goes Progressive every election day.
This is the payoff, that politicians make, to thugs, in order to rule over you.
Looks like the Telsa high-voltage machines still work.
ReplyDeleteThis was the cleaves pipe dream, nobody else wanted it and it shows by crappy attendance and vacant buildings. All this has done is create a slush fund for the cleave and his bestus black friends.
ReplyDeleteThese dumb fucks have a Director of Finance position posted on Indeed. Working for a non-profit would make me want to puke, but working for these idiots would drive me insane.
ReplyDelete18th and Shine, buckdance, grift and minstrels
ReplyDelete6:41 is RIGHT!!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't anybody curious to know?
Not only would I like to see all these 'folks' lose their jobs, but I'd also like to see them all going to jail.
Even more curious is why they don’t hire white people?????
ReplyDeleteWhite people may ask questions when they see dubious shit going down.
DeleteThe tax payers need to stop breast feeding 18th and Vine and let it sink or swim. Enough of this money pit already.
ReplyDeleteGib us mo money
ReplyDeleteI call BLACK SUPREMACY.
ReplyDeleteBlack people are very good about wasting other people's money on worthless endeavors.
ReplyDeleteBy the look of those two women they must be spending it all on costumes! Lmao!!!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt. What's up with one’s fur? Looks like a bottle brush.
DeleteIf the 18th & Vine was such a good idea, why aren't black businesses supporting it? Weren't there several attempts to open restaurants by black owners? What happened? This used to be a viable shopping and service-oriented area back in the day. It can be again if the black population wants it to be. Don't look to whites for help. Make it happen the way your predecessors did.
ReplyDeleteLol Anita Maltbia was also over the now defunct Green Impact Zone. The Grifting never stops. Two things the Green Impact Zone and 18th & Vine have in common? Anita Maltbia and Emmanuel Cleaver. Let that sink in.
ReplyDeleteAnita Maltbia was also over the now defunct Green Impact Zone. The Grifting never stops. Three things the Green Impact Zone and 18th & Vine have in common? Anita Maltbia, Jermaine Reed and Emmanuel Cleaver. Let that sink in.
ReplyDeleteThe justification for more 18th and Vine funding is the same as for the continuation of Affirmative Action: "We've made a lot of progress, but we can't stop now."
ReplyDeletenow thats funny right there!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs that sheboon on the right trying to make a Wu Tang logo out of her hair?
ReplyDeleteMaybe they can sell off that Plastic Saxophone! Kansas City (Cleaver and Threat) paid $250,000 for it, surely it's gone up in value, after all, it has never even been played.
