A Kansas City economic development agency on Wednesday assigned development rights for a proposed 800-room downtown convention headquarters hotel to a new entity. Before Wednesday's action by the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority, a group called KC Hotel Developers LLC, including equity investors Timothy O'Byrne and Steve Rattner, had been designated as the developer.

  6. If this gets finalized taxpayers are on the hook for $200,000,000! Originally it was $168,000,000 now they have snuck another 40,000,000 on the taxpayers bill. It's time to put a stop to this NO BID fiasco. Remember the estimated cost of the new airport dropped $150,000,000 or more when it went out for bids. Why not the hotel? Where is Dunns fixed price we were promised in August?. How much debt can you stand? 800,000,000 on the GO Bond, $200,000 000 for the Hotel and 1,500,000,000 for. New airport! It's you're money!!
