TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! AFTER LATEST WESTPORT DOUBLE SHOOTING: TIME TO DEMAND STREET PRIVATIZATION AND HELP FROM COUNCIL LADY JOLIE JUSTUS!!!
Weekend violence in Westport is becoming ritual . . .
Here's the round-up of gunfire last night in an embattled midtown party district:
KMBC: 2 shot in Westport; Person of interest in custody
KCTV5: The shooting happened about 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
Fox4KC: Westport decries city’s lack of action after latest shooting
Even better . ..
HERE'S SOME GREAT INSIDE INFO FROM OUR BLOG COMMUNITY AT THE SCENE OF THE SHOOTING:
"The shooting happened right in the middle of Westport near Kelly's where several people including officers were at. The suspect shot two people and ran from the scene before officers arrested him.
"This just goes to show that something needs to be done about Westport. A suspect shoots two people right by where officers were.... The mindset of opening fire in crowds is not deterred in part because of the lack of consequences from Jackson County judges. Criminals know that if they are charged they will get a bond reduction in a week and likely get out. To do it all over again.
"Until the community, city leaders, etc. demand change with the judges more violence will plague our city."
While the plebs who are out of the loop are talking racism, party life and guns . . . Our blog community has approaches this crisis from the perspective of POLICY . . . Which determines local life more than most people realize.
And so . . .
HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE TO BE GUNNED DOWN BEFORE COUNCIL LADY JOLIE JUSTUS HELPS WESTPORT STREET PRIVATIZATION LIKE SHE PROMISED???
If you think TKC is out of line with this question. Westport is asking pretty much the same thing:
And so . . .
Whilst the political lady has been busy trying to fulfill the wishlist of her corporate patrons with a new airport that nobody wants, Westport has become a shooting gallery and biz leaders in her Council district have been disappointed by her response or lack thereof . . .
Her plan to confront violence on the Citizens Task Force was mostly regarded as a bad joke that didn't confront crime, now residents in the 4th District have a plan of their own which she has ignored . . . Rather than local voters acting helpless in the midst of more gunfire, here is an example of political pressure that can be applied and addressed to a member of council in order to at least address the problem.
You decide . . .
