TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! 9/11 MEMORIAL ATTENDANCE PLUMMETS IN KANSAS CITY METRO!!! SHOULD WE CANCEL FUTURE LOCAL 'PATRIOT DAY' TRIBUTE?!?

A few weekend newsies dutifully reported Kansas City's annual 1st-responder memorial stair climb dedicated to 9/11 but what they didn't mention was the skimpy crowds and paltry attendance even among firefighter participants.

To wit . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT, THIS YEAR KANSAS CITY HAS PRETTY MUCH FORGOTTEN 9/11 AND THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE TRAGIC TERROR EVENT IS MOSTLY JUST ANOTHER SOCIAL MEDIA MEME WITH HORRIBLE ATTENDANCE AT PUBLIC TRIBUTE EVENTS!!!

We talked to a critic of this event first for a hot take:

"The event has passed into history and that's where it belongs. These public memorials are no longer about sharing public grief or healing. They're just a private party for city workers that taxpayers are forced to partly fund. If they want to memorialize 9/11 on their own dime, that's fine but at this point, when all of these events are just firefighters and their families, they need to end any public subsidy and participation."

In fairness, we reached out to a 1st responder for reaction:

"The public funding for these events is almost zilch and we spend a lot of money in far more frivolous ways than the team building and public awareness opportunities these events offer. So what if it's just firefighters and their families? We deserve an opportunity to raise money and awareness for this cause just like everyone else . . . Like those candidates you were telling me about who send campaign e-mails on City Hall servers. The point is, remembering the worst terror strike in American history isn't a burden, it's part of our duty as Americans."

Today, in KCMO the tribute to 9/11 started with a paltry moment of silence and not much else.

Accordingly . . .

WE ARE FORCED TO ASK: SHOULD KANSAS CITY STOP COMMEMORATING 9/11 GIVEN PALTRY PUBLIC PARTICIPATION???

You decide . . .

  1. We have a holiday for everything on Twitter. Sometimes two or three at a time.

Why should this be any different. Put it on the same schedule as national donut day and we'll see great attendance.

  3. A large group of Americans take a backhoe to Shanksville Pennsylvania and see if a plane really disappeared into the ground like we were told. I call BS. That whole day was BS, the day physics took a break.

    1. I concur with you, what in the world is that round orb looking object that slams into Tower 2 prior to the jet appearing to hit the building? How does the nose of a jet stay intact from Impact to exit in a tower that size what all that steel? Answer it can't. I don't know what happened that day but the physics do not match up

  4. Patriot day needs some good sales or fireworks like other holidays. Going to an event to kiss the boots of "first responders" is not something that will ever be popular.

Also, people don't have time or money for that shizz. Most people are busy working.

  5. 9:05AM Go away loser. Back to your trailer. Nobody has any kind of time for you and your kooky crackpot theories. We don't debate with retards.

  9. "SHOULD WE CANCEL FUTURE LOCAL 'PATRIOT DAY' TRIBUTE?!?"

Yes. Let's stop picking the scab off the wound and let it heal. Commemorate every five or ten years.

  10. I can't believe the ignorance of some of these comments.

Kissing the boots of first responders ???? That statement is so incredibly stupid I can't even wrap my head around the fact that this person is out there walking around outside of a mental institution.

    Most people are busy working???

How about the statement insinuating the events of that day didn't happen????

    Interrupting football season???

    Comparing 9-11 to donut day????

No emotions, no conscience, no feelings = sociopath, very scary and serious mental illness!

  12. Im not surprised that the impact is fading
That happens as time goes by
I recall as a child that Pearl Harbor day commemorations were big deals
    But today it's all forgotten
We should never forget 9/11 but don't be surprised when it's impact fades

  19. Silvestor is right I as well remember Pearl Harbor remembrances as a kid taking place and now days not much of anything takes place. I have often thought that was due to the limited number of WWII vets still alive.

9/11 will turn into one of those yearly anniversaries that will mean more to those involved than to a nation as a whole. Then you have the conspiracy theories that seem to show up all the time by those who claim that Bush and his cronies made 9/11 happen.

So in short it will always be known as the tainted tragedy that nobody really admitted doing where as Pearl Harbor we knew that Japan did it or did our government stage that as well?

  21. Yeah, that sneaky terror in the U.S., on a single day, may be forgotten by those not closely impacted by the 9/11 catastrophic events as time passes. But, plenty of fiesty sunzabitchus -- our own DOMESTIC TERRORISTS-- ain't gonna have some old statues of Americans sit in public places! Oh, and remove those monuments and stained glass commemorative displays at colleges and chapels, too!

Watch out, you Antifa and "resister" Sh*theads. We better hope the devious terrorists don't swallow IEDs and board as passengers on our flights. Seems that crap could be easily done if they bypass image screening and get a quick body pat only. Fukabuncha FUBAR hatin' on our own Americans. Both the Confederacy and the Union had their SAINTS and SINNERS!!!

Can you provided the link to your reference work after 9/11 where you went to the site and conducted field research on the debris? Can we see that work as well? If not...maybe you should just the fuck up.

You don't need a degree anymore there's so much good knowledge online from groups like a MIT University on this subject you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand Junior High physics it just goes to show you you're not very old or informed just go back and suck on your mama's tit and let the grown-ups talk
