A man with Kansas City ties is riding out Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean. Clark Dauner, a former school principal in Cameron, Missouri, prepared for days leading up to the storm's attack. Dauner lives in Christiansted, on the Virgin Islands, in a home that sits on the side of a mountain, about 300 feet above sea level.

Looking forward to rugged maniac. I'm neither rugged nor a maniac, and I haven't even run a mile since the one last year, but that 5k course = 2 hours of fun and near-death from exhaustion.
