St Teresa's 'Swastika' Fake News Reveals Kansas City Media Anti-Catholic Bias

Not so long ago there were three rapes reported in a Midtown KCPS high school. Wanna know what happened after that? Nothing. At least nothing after a group of clergy advocated on behalf of an embattled school leader.

By contrast, mean girls at an elite KC Catholic High School show their stupidity to the Internets and the world goes crazy. It's not the place of this blog to defend the kind of monsters who enjoy 10k a year tuition at the secondary level . . . However, what we will note is that nobody should care about the antics of young ladies in high school and the public shaming by some but not all media outlets shows an ongoing bias against Catholics given so many other curious faith community practices in the metro . . . And not just antics at the IHOP.

Forgive me, but headlines and editorials over beer pong intolerance at a prep school in a town with 111 murders just doesn't make sense.

Here's another recap of the story that's fairly reported. You decide . . .

St. Teresa's Academy students who made swastika from plastic cups during drinking game face discipline

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In the words of St. Teresa's Academy, the school and church community was 'challenged this past week' by under-aged drinking and by some students' decision to create a racist symbol from their drinking cups.

  1. I am a Catholic and didn't feel the media was anti-Catholic. I am white and felt it was anti- white privelege. It could have been any expensive predominantly white school and the media would have come down hard on it.

  2. They love all of the attention and the outrage.
    That was the purpose.
Useless, rich white girls who have money and privilege and always will.

  3. Ah, you mention IHOP...The International House of Prayer with its main headquarters in Grandview.

Young people holding prayer meetings, handing out Bibles, charitable activities, etc

And that THE KANSAS CITY ATHEIST COALTION can not stand...they even hold protests and carry their signs at their conventions.

But I have never seen them holding protests over the other things you mention.

KANSAS CITY ATHEIST COALTION MEMBERS...I know you read this...lets see you PROTEST TERRORISM IN FRONT OF A MOSQUE OR MAYBE AN ISLAMIC CENTER.

  4. By the way, what are "the antics at IHOP" that you speak of?

  5. Just the little things like, passing your new bride around to your buddies to fuck and encouraging her to kill herself because she expected a marriage to a real husband and found out that she was married to Charles Manson.
You know, the same thing that any religion does.

  6. Fake News from 7:27

Hey, are you a member of the KCAC? Aren't you all more into polyamory and homo marriage and trans stuff than traditional marriage?

I mean, whatever rocks your boat but who the fuck are you to bellyache?

    1. Nope, it's real news, and you missed a single word consisting of a single letter. It is written "...three rapes reported in 'a' Midtown KCPS high school."

  8. Truthful reporting on real crime might make some citizens angry while reporting on some local rich kids doing the same thing as rich kids do everywhere is juicy news all like to read or hear about.

In the end all that most wanted to see is the names of the parents whose brat was allowed to be out partying in the first place so they would have more gossip to use texting to all their friends about.

Real news reporting is a thing of the past and doubtful it will ever return.

  9. Where are the Josh's from the KCAC?

Why don't they speak out about this Catholic outrage? Are they afraid?

  10. OK. The reverse non-swatika was kind of goofey, but the reaction has been totally fucking ignorant. Lets stop trying to take ten pounds insignificant shit and stuff it into a five pound bag. Lets stop punishing normal kids for not being PC all the damn time. Here is a Catholic school that doesn't have a fucking word to say about its students being party animals and drunkards, but gets a pissy over fucking plastic cups and the possibility that some drama queens somewhere on earth will find a reason to be offended. This is sensitivities run amok.

  12. Adolph wasn't wrong about everything. We got the interstates, missles and VW Bugs and microbusses from him.

  13. That was not a Nazi swastika. The kids got drunk and stupid is all.

I saw a smoke stack belch white smoke....I am torn down to my feet offended that white smoke superiority was displayed. I am a victim and I am offended I want that smoke stack torn down. And I need a safe place and a national day of black smoke.

When does the stupid shit stop?

  14. Tony, it's a reach to try to twist criticism of this School's Administration into "An Anti-Catholic Bias", isn't it?

The posts I've been reading address the arrogance of these spoiled brats and the lack of any serious disciplinary action by this School. One day spent on "in-school contemplation" and having to write (but not mail) letters to the Colleges you plan to attend does not seem to go far in addressing the situation.

The complete lack of consideration for the poor girl who reported the incident is far more telling, though. The School has done NOTHING to protect her from harassment by both the students and staff so far, and there can be no doubt that there will be none I the future.

If you want to twist this criticism into "Anti-Catholic Bias" go ahead, but realize that there may be questions if that interpretation is valid.

  15. @ 1:00pm, all that means was that they were too stupid or drunk to even get a Swastika right! I seriously doubt that any of them were really Nazis, but that is no excuse for their intentions!

They wanted to shock, they did shock, and now folks like you leap to their defense. Your right to do so, and I agree that too much is being made of this, but the subject of this thread is whether or not this indicated an "Anti Catholic Bias".

Anti Private School Bias, maybe, Anti-Elitist Bias, also possible, but it seems a long way from criticism of an entire Denomination.

  16. Yeah, get these crimmie coeds off to boot camp or convents ASAP. Wouldn't want these wild ones to go rampaging with their mad daddies over to Rock High to stomp Hawk heads in. Or, what a shame if these devil dames went to fisticuffs in the middle of Mission Hills' streets, and Auntie TammyKay in her new $120K Porsche Cayenne to the rescue of her favorite niece, plows over and kills one of the darlings.

  20. Drunk teens play inappropriate game.

Why is this even a news story? Because they cannot hold their liquor like Rockhurst boys? The girls at STA did not open a Ladies Auxiliary to the Ku Klux Klan. They drank too much beer and were dumb enough to take a picture of something they were drunk enough to think was clever.

Write "I will not get stupid drunk" 500 times and get on with it.
