CRAIG GLAZER CONSIDERS NATIONAL ANTHEM FOOTBALL PROTEST CRISIS!!!
Real talk and a thoughtful alternative perspective from our pal and Kansas City's preeminent media mogul. Checkit:
Craig Glazer: To Stand For The National Anthem/Or Not!?
Colin Kaepernick, gee thanks for all this crap! Perhaps well meaning, Kaepernick decided a season ago to 'not' stand for the national anthem, he took a knee. Why? He only talked about it after the fact. It was vague...'uh discrimination...police brutality...unjust treatment of minorities in America' a combination of all three and more? It would have helped had he defined what he was kneeling for BEFORE HE DID IT. So today its still confused right? Well not really, its a 'racial' issue. Race is the big elephant in the room for all this attention, correct. African Americans feel belittled, betrayed and mistreated by 'white America' in general. Do they have a case? Perhaps. Is this the right way to go about stating a case? Perhaps. Is there a better way? YES. Is Donald Trump the bad guy? Perhaps. Is Trump brilliant about getting all the attention on the NFL, the National Anthem and off all his other issues? You bet.
The NFL is now 70% non white, means mostly black players. Those guys today average well over a couple million a year in payments. They make more in a year than most of their predominately white fan base at the stadiums make in their entire lives. So they don't get a ton of sympathy. Oh they aren't making the statement of unjust treatment for themselves its for their family and all other non white Americans. O.K. what is the statement? I've yet to get that one clear.
We could spend all day on why there is so much racial unrest in this country today. Whites fear young blacks, PERIOD. Let me let you in on a secret gang....'THAT IS, PERHAPS, THE MAIN REASON DONALD TRUMP WON THE WHITE HOUSE' the silent majority wants calm, peace and law and order. They VOTE. African American's hate Donald Trump, they want him gone right. THEY NEED TO VOTE HIM OUT, not hate him out. Come next election if the non whites and Trump haters don't go vote for the 'other white guy or lady' running against Trump..psssst he will win again. His followers VOTE!
They tell us we are not standing for the flag, sorry the national anthem to show we have the freedom to choose. Really? Like some players wanted to wear pink shoes to honor their mothers every game due they were dying of breast cancer..the owners said NO, and that was that...where did that freedom go? The NFL is a business. In the end its based on stars, media hype, and mostly WHO WINS! In the end this entire episode might make 'part' of an ESPN 30/30 otherwise forgotten in a short time.
You guys in the NFL or NBA want to really make a difference? Then you guys stay up late on weekend nights in major cities and go talk to the young black men going out with guns on them, doped up, high on something thinking its cool to shoot at someone usually another black person over almost no reason. The violence has to stop, or be slowed down for whites to listen. THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT NOT COLOR...SENSELESS VIOLENCE. You super stars help solve that and you will truly have done something fantastic for our country. The flag has little to do with that, huh. You guys live in major cities get your team mates together and go help stop the violence at night. Instead of going to clubs be out front and talk to the groups of young men who are out there for getting 'reps' by being 'bad' and violent. You do that and you have America's attention and support on both sides. Isn't that the real issue? Isn't the violence what causes police to overreact and do violence themselves...THEY ARE AFRAID that' why. Hey some of those cops shot for no reason and killed, were BLACK. When the violence slows down a ton this will all start to end and work, until then standing or not standing won't matter much or be remembered down the road. Ask Colin, for a league that wants to give their players the right to choose...THEY WON'T GIVE COLIN A JOB, huh? Trump is a disappointment for not helping to get the stars and leaders on the same page to begin to fix the violence. I agree with that.
