TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE FLASH FLOOD PROOF OR JUST THE SECOND '100-YEAR EVENT' ACT OF GOD THIS WEEK?!?!
Earlier this week, Kansas City officials described a South Kansas City food as a "100-year event" implying that the downpour was so rare that the "act of God" defied even the best planning. And then, pretty much the same thing happened last night but all over the metro.
A quick rundown of the drama . . .
South Kansas City was under water earlier in the week and then flooded again last night by a few inches less. Thankfully, nobody was hurt or trapped given that most of the biz had already been flooded out.
AMID THE DELUGE THERE WERE MULTIPLE WATER RESCUES THROUGHOUT THE KANSAS CITY METRO!!!
Here's an iconic image from Brookside showing their sewers flooding the street.
Remember, Kansas City is under EPA mandate to make BILLIONS worth of repair to water and sewer infrastructure and this town has barely scratched the surface of that work while politicos cater to developer patrons.
And speaking of toilet overflow . . .
Check a quick shot of FLUSH CREEK at high tide last night . . . Not exactly white water rapids considering all the floaters circling around in this canal carrying millions of gallons full of untreated County Club sewage at any given point. On the bright side, the collection of upper-class KCMO poop means at least there's kale somewhere in that stream.
Lots of rescues last night as the KCFD Chief quickly corrected a misinterpretation that he was clowning this guy stranded on his car and Wesport was awash in something besides desperation.
And so, this brings us to a question of faith and reason for this soggy Sunday morning and this epic shot RECORDED BY A KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER LAST NIGHT . . .
Is the double trouble Kansas City flash flooding this week proof of global climate change, a repeated "act of God 100-Year-Event" or just more evidence that the Kansas City metro neglects infrastructure in favor of a greedy corporate development agenda???
You decide . . .
I don't know, I still blame the streetcar.
ReplyDeleteActually, that's not too far off. If we weren't paying for stuff like the streetcar, we'd have more money to fix the sewers.
DeleteAgain, no bright side to this post. At least the flood kept the murders down.
DeleteBetter title: Kansas City is literally sinking into debt.
ReplyDeleteIt's August man, it's supposed to rain 4 inches in 4 hours.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteIt's the infrastructure, Sly is doing everything backwards.
I think Sly needs an enema.
You can thank the cleave for this mess, he started receiving federal dollars to fix all this when he was mayor. Being the dumbass boon he is he spent it on everything but what he was supposed to spend it on. All the mayors after him took his lead and used it for what ever they wanted. One of his projects was the jazz district...... just think if he had only used that money to fix this problem back then we wouldnt be in this boat today, pun intended
ReplyDeletesLIE needs a labotomy
ReplyDeleteThe word LAUGHINGSTOCK should be applied to anyone who perpetuates the 1 in 100 years of anything. Are they basing it on a couple hundred years of history or millions of years the earth has existed? Rains come in groups as does most weather- computer models only work with the data supplied.
ReplyDeleteStreetcars were nice back in the early 1900's and feel free to apply the word LAUGHINGSTOCK to how the world sees us putting electric streetcars to work. As KC goes backwards and has no money for upkeep and infrastructure and keeps the Peanut Gallery busy- I have to guess the world is laughing as they continue To Make America Great Again!
There have been city's most that have turned into ghost towns. .because of the lack of infrastructure. .And going bankrupt trying build infrastructure. The residents moved out. .Bridgeport Connecticut. .for example. .
ReplyDeleteweather happens.
ReplyDeleteRemember the song. .LEE'S SUMMIT IS THE PLACE TO BE FINE LIVING IS THE PLACE FOR ME. SORRY K.C.I JUST GOT TO GO.GIVE ME Tonys. Blog, and a cup of jo.City leaders If you don't get it Together you will loose your population like ST LOUIS .I DON'T LIVE IN LEE'S SUMMIT I HAVE PASSED THROUGH ON MY TRAVELS .GREAT MIDWEST HOSPITALITY. .
ReplyDeleteBrother Fred Phelps warn you KC fucks that if you didn't do something about the thug boons and queers God would get you!
ReplyDeleteOK, I think the sewers are flushed out now. But "Better call Bob" for the $99 sewer inspection soon.
ReplyDeleteAt this rate Sly will never have his own bobblehead night at Royals stadium.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in this area with the exception of two years when I was in LA and have seen all kinds of different climate events.
ReplyDeleteThe earth has constantly gone through change from when it started out as a huge ass fiery ball of smoke and gas. It will go right on changing as well and not a damn thing we can do about it. Al Gore can puke out all the crap he wants about global warming and all he is talking about is the world continuing to change as it always has.
Face facts Kansas City, GOD HATES US!
ReplyDeleteSome of us live on Welfare and don't even look for work!
Some of us drive Pickup Trucks or ride Harley Davidsons!
Some of us set foot in Kansas more that once a decade!
Some of us display the Confederate Battle Flag!
Some of us listen to Rap Music or Country Music!
Some of us let our pants sag too far!
Some of us have visible Tattoos!
Some of us park in Handicap Spaces when we need to walk and lose weight!
Some of us aren't even Patriots, we're Republicans!
Geez, It isn't rain we need to worry about, we should worry about lightening bolts from the sky!
^ some of us are bat shit crazy and others are not
ReplyDeleteThere is no real effective plan to fix storm/water problems in East and South KC. Brookside and thw Ward Parkway neighborhoods will get new seperate storm and sewer lines but the best (and cheapest) for the rest of us to be in compliance amount to giant cess pools.
ReplyDeleteOh they will give it fancy consultant engineering names like "water gardens" or "wetland reclamation' but thats just putting some green around the turds to hide it.
WATER COMPANY NEEDS TO BE AUDITED BY AN OUTSIDE ENTITY!
People cant afford their bills, the problems dont get fixed and the culture within the services there is one of apathy and "not my problem".
Place needs to be FLUSHED top down and managed by people who care about civic duty vs Burns And McD "bottom lines".
Super Dave speaks out his ass once again.
ReplyDeleteDid that Coaches gay bar re-flood?
ReplyDeleteI heard Coach's brought in a pontoon boat and had a Pop Up Bar. They raised $30,110 with a cash jar hanging/swinging from the canopy, surrounded by the car dealer balloons the bar peanuts were still crunchy...and it was a blast tossing the shells into the stream.
ReplyDeleteThe guide ropes for the crowd to use were tethered on higher ground.
Take home cups were banned by KCMO Liquor Control, due to danger that poop might splash into their cups as the customers made their way back, via guide rope to their Prius or Land Rovers.
At the next rain, Coach's fans are gonna be more organized. They are importing the entire fleet of boats from the naked Party Cove at Lake of the Ozarks. They will form a huge platform so drinkers can climb from boat to boat, shore to shore. T-shirts will be sold to benefit Coach's rebuilding. And Mayor Sly James has already pledged to rename the whole swamp Coach's Naked Party Cove. And to finance whatever is needed, out of the 123GO Bond slush fund.
It's all good.
Tracy, you are so beautiful and sexy.
Delete12:04 I really like this blog for the simple fact I can see what the really dumb people think around here. Yes, You are very dumb because you couldn't add any factual comment to the matter so you thought that trashing superdave was the solution. Only thing I see talking out of their ass is you, Mr.Shit for Brains.
ReplyDeleteTracy scores again!
ReplyDeleteJohnson County had a flush at once flash mob on foisted corrupt pork, so the simultaneous flush was to call bs on Streetcar and airport, greater metro issues, Sly setting Rockhurst fix
ReplyDeleteThe hundred year event happened six times in something like twenty years, hello
ReplyDeleteGive em hell Tracy!
ReplyDeleteTracy, you are old and racist. You are doing horrible damage to your professional reputation.
ReplyDeleteFlooded KC now starts to stink. What a shame.

ReplyDeleteso, after reading all the earlier comments...and in the order of presentation...I did not see one streetcar but I'm sure one was somewhere, perhaps in the metro "chunnel"...the sewers, both storm and sanitary are still "brokedick"...the murder count is yet to be tallied, E Clever still owes for a car wash...say, where can a guy get a decent car wash anyway? I didn't hear any jazz music in between thunder claps...any decent jazz music...perhaps a few bars of "Sweet Georgia Brown"...four inches of rain in an hour..perhaps in the rain forest area of the metro...that would be east of uh, Prospect...Sly IS an enema...Sly said, "I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotemy...yep, streetcars are a transport of the past, but these are more stream lined and "lectric".OK the old ones were too...lectric..Rev Phelps ain't no help nor is I can fix yer' sewer BOB..It'll be way North of $99...and, Sly IS a bobblehead..there is NO global warming...DOG does hate us , according to my dislexic cousin...we all are batshit crazy...give Burns and Mac and Cheese a fair shake...runnin' out of space here...
The 100 year event decreed by God will be when KC finally stops wasting money trying to make the city a boon amusement park and actually fixes it storm system, sewers and infrastructure. I expect Jesus Christ will do his second coming act before these local boss hog fucks get around to actually doing something.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 year storm doesn't happen once every 100 years. It means there is a 1% chance that storm will happen in a given year.
ReplyDeleteSame odds exist for the city doing anything constructive.
