TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! RESIDENTS FEAR VANDALISM AGAINST KANSAS CITY CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL AND PLEAD FOR POLICE PROTECTION!!!

Ward Parkway is a posh boulevard in Kansas City that has been defined by luxurious homes and meticulously-manicured lawns for more than a century.

Amid the current culture war and a local fight over a longstanding but now controversial monument . . . The residents of this neighborhood fear their mansions might soon serve as prisons giving a rising level of public resentment against the United Daughters of the Confederacy memorial.

Moreover . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS REVEAL: WARD PARKWAY DENIZENS DEMAND POLICE PROTECTION AND FEAR UPCOMING PROTESTS AND VIGILANTE DESTRUCTION OF THE CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL!!!

Here's the word:

"Nobody wants to fight the Civil War again. At the upcoming meetings to discuss the fate of that thing, you won't find many people from this neighborhood defending the memorial. The support for it is almost nil. This is a classic KC liberal fight against an enemy that only exists in their minds. So I'm sure they'll win a resounding victory and then move on to their next crusade. But what we don't want is a bunch of bums camping out, committing vandalism and then wandering around our homes looking for criminal opportunities. That's the real threat, that's the discussion we want to have with authorities and our council representatives. The quicker they move it, the better. And hopefully they'll clean up properly as they leave . . . "

Fun fact . . .

There actually was a protest planned yesterday at this site but nobody showed up.We predict a better choreographed demonstration in the coming days . . . Or not.

And so, this small piece of Kansas City history will come down as this town removes symbols of a troubled past rather than confronting more pressing civic issues that currently confront the populace . . . Or, just maintaining all of the crappy streets, busted pipes and stanky sewers that define local scenery outside of few nice neighborhoods.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. Agree with the homeowner here somewhat. Asking people to defend the Confederacy or a memorial is not going to get any takes who live near the site. All of the people who established that monument are long dead.

    1. So that's the liberal struggle nowadays? Not healthcare, not jobs, not education. Statues. No wonder they can't win any elections. No wonder so many Democrats who voted for Obama turned around and voted for President Trump.

  5. Nobody said the progressives have their priorities in order, matter of fact they don't have a clue to what they want. For me it'll be a sad day if these beautiful monuments come down, let's just wipe out all the history of this great country because people can't handle it. Ww2 was an ugly time for the world and it makes me sad, let's take those out too, let's get rid of police memorials while we're at it because they shoot people, I'm scared of them! I'm just saying it will never end with those people unless we stand up and put an end to this

  6. Destruction of property by non-owners of said property is against the law end of story.

When are people going to see that a stop is made of such goings on?

  7. Murders destroying a community and what do folks come up with, find an old statue or plaque no one has thought about and destroy. Great priority, please hit the gong on that ass hat.

  8. I see a chance to make money here

In ten years they will be worth some money on eBay

  9. Interesting that Peter J. Gogol, the person who originally wrote the KC Park Board suggesting removing the monument, lives in Prairie Village. How can his white guilt allow him to live in JCN's lily-white suburb that once restricted the people he's worried about offending, and even today, has a practically non-existent black population. Wouldn't Petey be less of a hypocritical snowflake by moving to the inner-city and walking the walk instead of just talking the talk???

    ReplyDelete
  10. He's gay so........ no, he really is, this is to sensitive for his gay sensibilities to handle so must destroy it so his life can move forward!!!

  11. " But what we don't want is a bunch bums camping out, committing vandalism and then wandering out our homes looking for criminal opportunities."

Typical Progressive who is ok with inflicting his/her views and politics on others to endure and pay for, but, sure as hell doesn't want any BLM shit heels in their neighborhood.

7:14 Is dead on the money.

  12. Why don't these liberals address a racism issue of today. Cerner closing Hillcrest Road in South Kansas City. Cerner closed this road because they did not want black people driving through their new office complex. They have to get on I-435 or go all the way up to Blue Ridge Blvd. to go between 87th St. and 95th St. Cerner does not close roads in North Kansas City.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Whoever keeps bringing up THE KANSAS CITY ATHEIST COALITION...STFU!

Those people aren't going to take an stand on any of this.

They have NO Blacks in their leadership positions as either Officers or Members of the Board of Directors.

Expect nothing from people who believe in...well, nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Free KC, you talk like taking down this monument is politician driven. It's community driven. And let's face it, all the issues you mentioned, the Democrats have been effectively neutered by the Republican majority. Republicans don't want their participation or input. I'd love to see both sides get together and actually have some give and take to get stuff done that works for the majority of Americans but that's a whole other topic.

Also, It is ok to have more than one agenda item you work on. Point being, you can't just say "Geez, is that all they care about is a statue".

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey 7:53AM Who cares??? I don't. If you care so much...write your congressman! You carry no water in this town. Cerner carries a ton. Know your role and shut your hole.

    ReplyDelete

  16. 7:14 Just because he might want the monument taken down doesn't mean he Has in your racist view (white guilt) and you're wrong about Johnson County, blacks are moving in and have been moving in very rapidly. As far as the suburbs that had restrictions, what does that have to do with anyone today? Those were laws from the past that no one today has anything to do with, and are illegal today.

It's you, who is acting territorial, and wanting to fight whether someone agrees with you or disagrees with you. PATHETIC!

    ReplyDelete

    1. For starters, I've lived in JoCo all my life, so I'm somewhat aware of its demographics, but thank you for your attempt to educate me.
Secondly, you mention that the restrictions of which I reference are from the past and have nothing to do with today, and you're right. Just like these statues that were erected many decades ago by people of another era. That's why they're a part of HISTORY. Every society has had dark moments in its past; how many innocent people did Mary I have burned at the stake (hardly something Queen Elizabeth would do today), but is England tearing down statutes, paintings or other things that are associated with violent, ugly times in their past? No, they're national treasures because they tell a story that, though flawed, is still honest and accurate. If the kooky leftists want to level the playing field, why not erect statues of Harriet Tubman, Booker Washington, Rosa Parks, etc. I'm sure city parks and courthouse lawns around the country would welcome them, and it would tell a story of people who really did things to improve life for their race, not just whine and complain and stir up hell.

  17. Cerner owns the land you embicile, they have the right to block ANYBODY from driving through their private property unless they work there, God you progressives are stupid. The only city street out there in that complex is the one leading to the fire station. Get over it!

    ReplyDelete
  18. First remove Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, from office.
She is a real threat. Not an old stone one.

  19. 7:53 Cerner did the right thing. I played in a Golf Tournament at Hillcrest 2 years ago. After the tournament, 6 or 7 of us came out, to find that our catalytic converters were stolen out of the parking lot.

I know someone who lives at 98th and Hillcrest. The neighborhood is infested with ghetto gangbangers and violent black criminals.

Endlessly repeated verification of Black criminality equals justification for the response from Cerner, who wants to keep their employees safe.

LMAO at people who say that the neighborhood over there will benefit from the influx of Cerner employees shopping at local business'.

Maybe, if Cerner hires some mercenaries to lay down suppressing fire along Blue Ridge and have Kirby and Little John take the point with a BAR, then they can clear out enough space to pick up a couple of six packs of Colt 45 Malt Liquor after they get their nails done.

  20. the Star's " brilliant" editorial writers suggested any statue or memorial should have historical and purposeful meaning and stand up the test of time....and the monument now located along Ward Pkwy simply doesn't meet that criteria...the Daughters of the Confederacy.....the Star, a "me too" organization almost extinct as the dinosaur...should review those monuments now erected to the likes of Ilus Davis, various local black leaders and organizers and those of the future for the Slyster perhaps...cuts both ways...

When Progressives, the left, Hollywood, entertainers, the MSM, millennials, the gay community, and minorities want it done, it gets the fuck done. End of story. Have any of you conservative shit-stains ever thought maybe you are the ones on the wrong side of history? With so many forces arrayed against you, maybe you really are the problem. Think about it. Who is on your side...Nazis, low-IQ white supremacists, and geriatrics who long for the halcyon days of their youth. Wow. That's an impressive line up. No wonder you always lose. There is a republican controlled state legislature, a republican governor, republican controlled House and Senate and a republican President and you morons can't get anything done. The level of incompetence is astounding. This president is done. Over. You backed a loser and you're too embarrassed to admit it. 26. I agree with 8:18AM. If you just read the comments section on this blog alone, you see why the conservatives are in trouble and can never get anything done. If this comment board is any indication of the majority of conservatives in this country, you will always lose on every social issue. The sheer ignorance and downright hatred of these posters insures republican irrelevance. Conservatives have ceded the moral authority under this president. All you people clamoring for a race-war, and violence in the streets are nothing more than common criminals and your destruction is already assured. I hate to break it to you but demographics is destiny. There is nothing you can do to stem the tide of changing demographics of this country. This President is the death rattle of republican politics as we know it. You have decimated your party backing a man who has always been unfit for office. The damage you have inflicted on this country is permanent. I don't like Trump and I didn't like Hilary either, I would have preferred John Kasich truth be told, but after this president, republicans are doomed. You can bet your ass the midterms will turn out republicans enmass and if Trump makes it 4 years(which is not a given) he will be soundly defeated. I think deep down most republicans know this.

Did you know ISIS was doing that in the middle East? They would take over an area and they would destroy anything of historical significant that had been there before Christ was born.
This is how liberal view is destroy your history it is evil.

Like Trump said it will be our founding fathers that are next. Tour Monticello and George Washington's home before it gets burned to the ground.

  35. 11:35 - Give me a G*D DAMN break. Washington and Jefferson didn't plunge our country into civil war to preserve the right of wealthy white people to have slaves and ensure that poor white trash weren't the lowest rung on the social ladder. You know who did though...Robert E Lee and the Confederates. We have books that outline the history so we don't need any stupid damn statues to revere a bunch of fucking racists. You know when the majority of these monuments were put up? In the late 1800s/early 1900s as a form of intimidation to Blacks. Oddly enough, some more were put up during the late 50's and early 60's (the era of Civil Rights movements).

Like Trump said.....Trump RELENTLESSLY spews bullshit and hyperbole everyday, EVERY FUCKING DAY, it just takes some cognitive capacity and critical thinking to siphon through it.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Wrong. Most confederates were poor, did not own slaves, and were fighting what they thought of as northern aggression.

Also, Lincoln said that if he could save the country without freeing the slaves he would do it. And he didn't consider blacks to be equal.

Mind blown, dear? Take your own advice and be better educated. :)

These monuments, & organizations like the KKK, were an expression of Southern Resistance. But the greatest example of Southern Resistance were the lynchings, & the Jim Crow laws. It is the nature of a conquered people to resist, but it's the resistance itself that protrays, though you were defeated, you remain undefeated. Though separate states seceeded, their succesion created Southern Nationalism, which would be more compelling if the land had not just recently been cleansed of its native inhabitants,

The Southern Culture was morally corrupt. It should not be mourned.

Its existence should have been an abomination in the eyes of Christians ...

  50. Wow, libs are desperate. You really think Bannon's departure is a victory. It was always meant to be. Trump is more middle of the road than anyone likes to admit. Bannon was a pawn to reel in the "Alt Right", win the vote, then do what he wants. He has surrounded himself with law and order type folks, and ass kicking military advisor's. The economy is rolling better than ever before, and the Teflon Don ain't going anywhere. And Trump was 100% right about Charlottesville. The initial protest was just a small group of people who opposed the taking down of statues. They are not Nazi's. Then the white supremacist assholes tried to take over, and the Antifa fucks soon followed suit. Both of the latter attempt to deny anyone of their opinions if they differ from theirs. And both are a minute segment of the population. The Nazi's attempted to make Charlottesville a huge get together, and mustered a pathetic 100 people. White supremacy is not an issue in the US, despite what the main stream media wants you to believe. What the snow flakes should really be afraid of is the normal everyday people that are just plain fed up with this shit. I am not a huge fan of blacks in general, unless they are of the "Carlton" variety. Just a difference in culture, and a decade in law enforcement dealing with their shit has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't go out of my way to be a dick to them, or anyone else. Mexican's I could care less, as long as they are here legally. Same for all other immigrants. But beware libs, if you push us too far, we WILL elect someone who is worse than what you accuse Trump of being. When you look at the reality of things, who is the real slave. The guy who lives off 'gubment handouts, or the poor sap working 40+ a week only to give a huge portion of that in taxes to support the dregs of society. At some point there will be an uprising, a leveling of the playing field if you will. I carry my .40 Glock around everywhere I go just HOPING for the opportunity to get some target practice on some poor "oppressed" soul who wants to rob/assault me. Unfortunately for me all the thugs seem to do is kill/attack/hate their own kind, so thus far no luck. Still have a tight grouping though...one to the head...two to the chest.
