Missouri Minimum Wage Push Back Starts Tomorrow: Will $12-An-Hour Stay Winning???

Tomorrow's KC vote is kind of an inside joke, here's a more serious statewide effort that we've been previewing:

Missouri GOP Killed St. Louis' $10 Minimum Wage. Now Activists Seek A Statewide Vote On $12.

But now Hinson is plotting her revenge. She and fellow activists plan to round up signatures for a statewide referendum proposing a $12 minimum across Missouri, according to Hinson's union, the Service Employees International Union Local 1. If a higher wage floor can be set only by the state, Hinson said, then that's just what they'll have to do.

  3. 10:14 - If we lived in a truly free market I would agree with you. Unfortunately, we do not live in a free market. Therefore, the wages must be raised legislatively. I currently oversee a few properties in Seattle where I was concerned about the $15 minimum wage when it was passed. But to date, it has had a minimal impact.

  4. Well it didn't work out so well in Arizona or Washington state, nor Oregon either !
    Small businesses laying off employees
Fast food chains replacing workers with Automated Robot Kiosks

and as usual, after the City got them their Illusionary raises
here came the CITY with TAX INCREASES on all kinds of things !
Typical of how Democratic "COMMIE" Lib'tards try to fool their supporters & voters !

  5. Crazy Clown. I can't speak to Oregon or Arizona. Seattle is in Washington, so I can disagree at least partially with that statement. Perhaps you have first hand knowledge in those other jurisdictions. However, what you say was my fear at our properties in Seattle, but to my pleasant surprise I have not seen or experienced what you described. And knowing the Seattle economy quite well, I can concede that the Seattle economy is much different from Kansas City. As for the kiosk issue. My industry has a consumer facing component, and we are testing and rolling out kiosks regardless of $8 or $15 minimum wage. The return on investment is so great that even the lower labor cost is rather insignificant. The major savings is in the significant training cost and turnover. The only effect the wage has is the continuing return, but that doesn't play as much into the decision to convert.

  6. I think we should all get $15 per hour..not $16 and not $14...but $15...and that's if one works or not...$15; then we would all be ...vanilla, not chocolate, not "rocky road"...vanilla! we would all wear cover-all clothing too...and, we would all be able to play an instrument...me, I play the piccolo...you, you play the tuba...and, with an answer like this, I must stay any mouse...

  7. If the boons get $15.00 for flipping burgers then I should get $45.00 per hours for cleaning the shitters at the hospital, or for putting nuts on the end of bolts at the toy factory, or for changing toner on the copy machine. Fuck these inequities designed pay dregs as much as I make. I want more until we bankrupt the country with people who have no skills or no incentive to acquire any.
