Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar Enthusiasts Rally Around Clay Chastain Via Social Media

The online discourse and a low rent election makes the strangest Kansas City bedfellows . . . 50,000 bonus points (redeemable nowhere) to anybody who can get a photo of Dave Johnson & Clay in the same room together.

And so the Yes on 2 no on 1 campaign begins with very little explanation just days before the vote.

Developing . . .

  2. In a little town that wants to consider itself "big league" and cutting edge, how in the world did a streetcar become its own issue that everyone is supposed to focus on?
Sly and the gang have been bamboozled by a little group of "transit activists" and have spent hundreds of millions of tax dollars on their toy.
And now they're poised to spend many hundreds of millions more.
The whole thing is so bush league and amateurish and has been dishonest from the start.
And has been a constant distraction from the real issues in KCMO like the levels of violence and homicides.
Just people playing at things with other people's money.
    Laughable and sad simultaneously.

  4. Clay has been suckered! Of course the KCATA supports him, they will end up with all the tax dollars if his ballot question passes. The KCATA and the City will tell Clay his plan won't work but since the ballot question allows the money raised to be used for almost any transit purposes the City will use it to further their toy train. Question #2 is a streetcar expansion vote in disguise. VOTE NO on question #2!

  5. Fixed rail is old, obsolete technology that does not meet the demands of the citizens of KCMO. Many major US cities plan to roll out mobile on demand services to meet the requirements of their residents.

  6. The only ones that have benefited from the starter line are tourists & developers. Let them start paying!

  8. The streetcar is not and never will be "transit". It's basically a tourist shuttle. If transit advocates really believe in mass transit, they will be looking at rapid transit combined with buses.

  9. What a fucking weirdo, he needs to stay in Virginia and give it a rest. The expansion of the streetcar without this assclown.
