At the outset of the upcoming vote on a KANSAS CITY BLANK CHECK DEAL STILL UP FOR BID here's the word from fiscal hawks who fear a media blitz filled with typical lies from local power players hoping to garner more corporate welfare at the expense of taxpayers and travelers.

Citizens For Responsible Government: Airport Ordinance, FINAL
This link leads to the final ordinance passed this week by our City Council for their airport. The Mayor and Council are asking the voters for permission to DEMOLISH our airport terminal (s) and construct the smaller, single terminal airport in its place. This is their idea of what we need. It can also be called the “Kansas" plan. Most of the people parading around the city, on television and radio, etc., selling this idea, don’t live in Missouri! There is no firm plan presented nor cost estimates associated with this idea. Airline passengers will pay for this, just as they do now. There is no change to that part of the equation. The change will come when they decide on the financing plan to be used and who will sell that package. Shouldn’t all this be decided before we vote?
IF YOU LIKE YOUR AIRPORT AND IT’S CURRENT CONFIGURATION THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO VOTE ON NOVEMBER 7TH….NO-vember!
Once the single terminal pundits get this out of their system, we can initiate plans for remodeling our current airport into a mid - century modern facility which will be what the voters want; not what the mayor, a few city council members and the high rollers from Kansas want. The first step is to defeat it in November at the ballot box. Be prepared for an onslaught of TV, Radio and print advertising trying to convince you to vote for it. CFRG is attempting to raise money to launch a campaign to publish the real truth about this vote.

You decide . . .
is it possible that the barrage might actually motivate "no" voters?
ReplyDeleteJolie Justice is a human Paraquat
ReplyDeleteViral marketing of no voters--for free--could prove itself against the Empire army's onslaught!
ReplyDeleteMay the Force be with the people.
Meanwhile they are intentionally reducing services at the airport to create the illusion of inefficiency.
ReplyDeleteAnd in today's Star editorial, the "columnists" still are riding the ridiculous horse of connecting a new terminal building with more flights by the airlines.
ReplyDeleteDo they really think the airlines are going to launch and support services with half empty airplanes to new locations?
Perhaps a future editorial will explain the business expertise and acumen behind such a position.
The argument for changing the people involved is stronger than the case for a new terminal, especially on an emergency basis
ReplyDeleteA fresh update to tech rich mid century modern gracefully blending existing with artful new and intelligently designed processes after autonomous shuttles have been implemented for two years and Sly is gone sounds about right
ReplyDeleteThink through the entire experience from neighborhood to return, that is what Google or Apple would do, same Tesla or Softbank
ReplyDeleteFace it, they just want rigged urgent pork, notice how quickly they take their eyes off the ball. Two months ago they thought fundamentals and 800 million were all they needed.
ReplyDeleteGreedy, disgenuine, wasteful, tone deaf, arrogant.......let me count the ways the let down the citizens
ReplyDeleteThe star should revisit every time that this is not urgent, nor has intelligent integrity been demonstrated anywhere along in the process.
ReplyDeleteWhen you start with contrived urgent fake priority and multiple fix efforts in patently offensive and corrupt manner, it doesn't gain credibility later. By any measure of what is right Sly should be gonged out of shaping this going forward.
ReplyDeleteBurn em Mac and Crooks Hardly Fakin are measured by their actions too. Rig setters on the pork gravy train.
ReplyDeleteSomeone get the montage greatest hits on video of this abomination of a Sly and Chamber cluster. Some of the pathetic insincere blather used to promote the fix. Saturday night life might like this material, certainly Greitens and Trump will find it charming.......not
ReplyDeleteDo you think anything you don't say, agentzero?
DeleteTry it.
Government involvement in economics results in temporary fixes and the awards to the yes men.
ReplyDeleteWill the marketing include the name change to Pendergast International?
ReplyDeleteSo emblematic of what KC government was, is, and shall remain.
Boss Tom got a Mural down by Grinder's that's progressive.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone thinks the citizens of KC won't be footing the bill for this debacle in the making I have some lovely beachfront property for sale off of I-29. Don't let this mayor shove his pipedream down our throats. The whole process needs to be watched VERY closely. He's already tried a huge shenanigan by attempting to just hand over the project to a company whose track record with building airports is, well, basically non-existent. If this gets pushed through, KC will be dealing with a gigantic mess well after Sly and his bowties have vacated City Hall.
