KANSAS CITY BEER GARDEN OF EVIL: BOULEVARD BREWING COMPANY THREATENS SACRED HEART CHURCH!!!

Drinkers of Kansas City's favorite beer confront a crisis of conscience given a proposed threat to a local faith community by a formerly beloved brand.

To wit . . .

MAKE NO MISTAKE: THE UPCOMING BOULEVARD BREWING COMPANY BEER GARDEN SCHEME THREATENS TO DESTROY SACRED HEART CHURCH!!!

Already the debate over the project has created life-long rivalries, led to threats of violence against a priest and offered yet another opportunity for milquetoast neighborhood politicos to put their faith in booze barons above and beyond holy mother church.

But more than anything else here's a fact that has been mostly unreported . . .

BOULEVARD BREWING COMPANY THREATENS SACRED HEART CHURCH WITH INEVITABLE DESTRUCTION BECAUSE PUTTING A BOOZE FEST RIGHT NEXT THE ALTAR OF A CHURCH IS ONE OF THE MOST EVIL DEEDS A LOCAL BIZ PLANS TO COMMIT SO FAR THIS YEAR!!!

Here's a drawing of the monstrosity that initially didn't offer a glimpse of where the beer garden would stand but we added the location of the church to put things in a more realistic perspective . . .

Eventually, the establishment of the beer garden will:

- Put drinkers within feet of the altar of the church.

- Create noise, parking and community conflict.

- Bring more drunken traffic to a neighborhood and faith community . . .

The sad thing about all of this is that the Boulevard Brewing Company complex is already massive and their pockets are deep . . . If they wanted, they could easily redesign their beer garden but instead they choose to desecrate a church and threaten a longstanding Kansas City faith community.

In conclusion . . .

DESIGNS FOR THE BOULEVARD BREWING COMPANY BEER GARDEN REVEAL AN EVIL PLOT THAT ABSOLUTELY THREATENS SACRED HEART CHURCH!!!

Our blog community doesn't tell people what to think, we simply provide information and let readers decide . . . But there is no arguing or denying the FACT that this beer garden poses a clear and present danger to people of faith in Kansas City because of callous and careless placement.

In the end, we can only hope and pray that discerning beer drinkers and local denizens recognize this plan for what it is: A wicked deed that infringes upon believers by way of beer garden celebration.

You decide . . .

  1. TK, don't forget that blvd isn't really a local company anymore. These are Belgians who already have a disdain and no respect for Catholics. That's the real story.

    1. Blvd = biggest bunch of creeps in all KC.

Weston Brewing Company is much better.

  2. It's really just more development that's pushing KC residents out. Sorry T, but you won't get any mercy from City Hall here. This is just par from the course. KC sees it's future with a very small and select group of people who have these big plans and don't care who they step on to get their way. They don't care about churches or houses or people. The sad thing is that KC doesn't see much profit from it or even jobs. Just marketing.

As for blvd. They have two decent beers in their lineup and haven't produced a good original product in at least 10 years.

  5. These developers are an evil bunch. They want every square inch of land they can get, even if they need to displace worshipers. Nobody and nothing gets in their way. They buy off everybody- even our leaders. The battle against this evil company starts here and now.

    BOYCOTT BOULEVARD BREWERY.

  6. I grew up Catholic, (or rather I was a Catholic, and then I grew up,) and I must say Catholics must have changed since I was young.

Doesn't having a Beer Garden next to the Church benefit everyone?

I mean, based on all the Catholics I know, doesn't that cut down on commuting time after Sunday Mass?

Won't that mean that it'll be easier for Catholic women to get their husbands to Church? It'll sure save time for the Father, that's for certain!

  7. I'm pretty sure it's illegal for drunks and their establishments to be within so many feet of a church.

    The church needs a lawyer.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I guess I'm contrarian on this issue and see this as a positive. Dad can go to the beer garden and get his mirth on while mom and the kids go to church and get their myth on.

    ReplyDelete
  9. As soon as a few Boulevard employees get their faces beat in this will cease to be a problem. Boulevard is not even an American company any more. They need to remember that

  10. Blvd = Facist beer

    ReplyDelete
  11. Blvd doesn't care about anyone but their Belgian bottom line.

    Don't drink that trash.

  12. Call it The Knights Of Columbus and put it in the basement

    ReplyDelete
  13. This is too bad. I have been a drinking age lifelong fan of Boulevard. I particularly enjoy Boulevard Wheat. I have ceased my purchases. But now that Boulevard is not really a KC company, it won't mean much.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The church previously owned this parcel, the church chose to sell it without deed restriction (which would affect the price they got for it), and now the church is complaining about what the purchaser is going to do with it. Sounds like the church chose money over control, and niw has to deal with the consequence of their decision.

  15. Don't most Catholic churches have bars in the basement? In all seriousness, I'm not seeing the conflict here. Surely the beer garden wouldn't be open during church services. Seems like they should develop a partnership that would benefit the church.

  16. Boulevard being a bully. Not drinking their shit anymore .

  17. @ 9:59, I think Tony is stirring the pot, and several posters have fallen for it.

  18. Lots of comical comments here, the funniest of which have to do with Boulevard being a "foreign company".
About every day we hear from KCMO city hall what a big-time cosmopolitan and sophisticated city this little burg is, yet not only are the provincials against "foreign companies, but even regularly rail against metro residents from Johnson County, or even north of the river in their own city!
Next time, let's check on something really important.
Like which high school people went to!
    Cow town on the plains.

  19. The church would make cool condos.

  20. you can almost chew the stuff ...
    wheat "beer" pale "ale" it
all is terrible !!! IPA ? WTF ?

    ReplyDelete
  21. So does this mean the church is going to give up drinking altar wine and the church will get rid of its booze stock?

    ReplyDelete
  22. TOP PHOTO -- YOUR UGLY MUG

    WHAT "ALES" KCMO???

    ReplyDelete
  23. The issue is not just about Boulevard Brewery. It's about developers doing whatever they want. Big business runs this city. They build Toy Trains, get TIFS, build airports and hotels- all on the taxpayer dime. Boulevard Brewery is just another player in this town that does whatever it wants. Our politicians worship at the feet of big business.

    Fight back! Boycott Boulevard beer.

    ReplyDelete
  24. BULLYvard better not mess around Jose, Maria, and Jesus.

    ReplyDelete
  25. If Boulevard really wants to push the envelope - build a beer garden next to Masjid Omar mosque. Their ownership would have fatwas put on their heads and they'd have to go into hiding. Ask Salman Rushdie or Trey Parker (Mr South Park) how that turns out.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Simmer down Tony, the church doesn't care and you know it. Quit blowing smoke.

    ReplyDelete
  27. How often would there truly be a conflict between the church's hours and the beer hall hours?

Also, according to Google Earth, what you have rendered in the second photo already exists and has for quite some time. So that tells me you're crying about something without even knowing what that something is.

    ReplyDelete
  28. ....so the priest raises a mug of beer instead of a chalice of jesus'
blood? And a pretzel for the body of ol'jeezy?
    What's wrong with that?

  37. I wished I cared about this. I don't. Maybe the church should pony up some taxes? They pay nothing. BLVD pays a ton. BLVD is growing by leaps and bounds. That church is slowly dying. Easy. BLVD wins!

  38. Who do you want? BARABBAS!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. They should incorporate the church into the beer garden. Bigger crowds for mass, and the entire church experience will be far more interesting. A win-win for all!

  40. Judging by the lack of coherence in 7:50 A.M.'s comment, he must've started the morning off by drinking a 12 pack of Boulevard beer before posting.

  41. I'm sure Tony will come up with a Trump connection any day now.
