TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY STREET LIFE FAIL: GO BOND CASH FOR CROSSWALK REPAINT DENIED!!!
A quick slice of life for the Kansas City afternoon . . .
After voters approved TENS OF MILLIONS of cash for street and sidewalk repair . . .
KANSAS CITY PUTS CROSSWALK PAINTING ON HOLD DESPITE DEADLY SUMMER PEDESTRIAN CRASHES!!!
Here's a look at a reasonable Northland resident suggestion rejected:
Subject: Re: Request for Service to the Kansas City 311 Call Center
"Due to time and manpower constraints, Kansas City can only repaint a limited number of crosswalks per year. If the crosswalk in question is deemed to be to be high priority, it will be added to the list."
I'm curious how much time does it take to repaint a crosswalk?
If the city can find time to put paint over thermo plastic on a road to nowhere (see link below) there is no reason it can't find a couple of hours to repaint a crosswalk leading to an elementary school. Every kid deserves a safe route to shcool. Our city has major issues when we deny children safe routes to school. It is time for KCMO to do some soul searching!
An example of the trend . . .
