KC Star printing building sale

The sale of the Kansas City Star printing plant exposes the corruption of Jackson County concerning the valuing of commercial property in Jackson County. The valuation for the assessment of property taxes is to represent the fair market value of the building. Currently the assessment at parcel 29-240-19-11-00-0-00-000 is only at $22,880,000 for 2017. Listed below is recent history of assessed market value:

2014 $42,000,000
2015 $22,000,000
2016 $22,000,000
2017 $22,880,000

I hope someone can write some articles on this issue. I know the KC Star wants to fully fund education.

  3. But the Star will still be officed at the buildings, so they're still on the hook for the tax break.

This is just a sell off, they still depend on Jackson County and City Hall. No challenges coming from them any time soon.

    Or ever.

  4. the KC Star is still in business??

    why?

  5. Maybe the valuation is based on the quality of the paper That would explain the drop

  6. ^^^ if that's the case, the valuation should be 22 cents, not $22 million.

  7. Does the tax break move to the new owner?

  8. The valuation for the assessment of property taxes is to represent the fair market value of the building.

Wrong. That's what the Assessed Value Total is for.

Do you guys just not pay taxes, or are you really really stupid?

  9. The value of the building and the business it houses is, like in every other case, the amount a willing buyer will pay to a willing seller to purchase it. The assessed value is irrelevant.

  11. This explains why The KC Star keeps giving Frank White a free pass. Guy is corrupt and incompetent, and The Star isn't reporting one word about it.

  12. The real paradox is when you protest your home assessment over a few hundred bucks the chicken shit bastards at Jackson Country drive a pile up your ass and treat you like a fucking criminal for challenging them when they do their assessments from behind a desk to begin with. Cock suckers.

  13. I forgot how much fun it is to browse through the tax records.

So Tony, buddy, I see you got a Chevy Spark!!! Cool!!! Are there any other adults driving those?

Also why doesn't your mom pay her property taxes once a year instead of quarterly?

Also, why is your mom paying the Personal Property Taxes on your car? Dude, you're in your forties, right? Does she still pay your insurance too? And wipe your butt?

  14. Star deserves to die. They're a failing business and they are not helping the community. KC needs to stop subsidizing them.
