THE GREAT KANSAS CITY POWER FAIL!!!

For late night readers in the dark and wasting their phone battery life along with their lives in this bloody Summer of discontent 2017 ...

YES! TONIGHT WE CELEBRATE KCP&L FAIL, THE FADING AMERICAN MIDDLE-CLASS AND THE GRID GONE DOWN!!!

Here is a roundup:

"KCP&L’s website shows NEARLY 100,000 customers are without power, as much of the metro area remains under a thunderstorm warning.

There is currently no timetable as to when power could be restored."

Maybe more for the morning update but if the people in charge seem to care so little about keeping the lights on . . . I'm not really gonna sweat it.

You decide . . .

The power game is a scam, nothing but BIG ENERGY SUBSIDIZED by local and state governments. The markup is 400% minimum and any competition is legally forbidden. In the meantime the methodologies cause cancer and the turn off the power on Grandma.

Cut them off, cut the chords.

  4. This is getting old, every time a little wind and rain move through the area we lose power; these aren't massive storms.

  5. Jesus fuckin Christ, this is NORMAL summer weather in this violent bible-thumping hellhole. Why don't utilities build and maintain for the situation where they do business? Because they don't have to. They are government-subsidized monopolies. What a pain in the ass it is to live here.

  7. After the 2002 ice storm KCPL said it would cost $2,000 per customer to bury utility lines, and that was more than most people would be willing to pay. I don't know where they got their info because I'd be willing to pay that not to have to put up with power outages every time the wind blows.

  8. KCP&L just wants your money. They're tired of having to work for it.

  9. Hey, at least the streetcar was working for most of the night. Transporting bums and barflies is very important work.

  10. When the grid, or service is no longer reliable it's a clear sign to get off and be self-sustaining. Companies lik KCP&L have made enough, and couldn't care less about customers. It's all about profits, corporate welfare, and executive golden parachutes. Time for something better, the technology exists, time to be rid of the grid! Thanks for killing my fish and wasting more of my money from all the food in my fridge I'll have to throw away now. No compensation, and of course I'll have to pay my bill next month like I always have. KCP&L you make me sick, I hope your management gets their due in my lifetime so I can see it.
