Woman steals pain meds in brazen theft from retirement facility in Overland Park
Overland Park, KS - In early June, a woman entered a retirement facility at 81st and Santa Fe and stole medicaton from one of the residents, according to police. They say she identified herself as a healthcare worker to an eldery resident and asked if she was taking any pain medication and where she kept it.
This is easy pickings. You can walk into just any retirement/nursing home and no one challenges you. It's even better if the so-called nurses leave the medication cart unlocked in the open. No security whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteThe state must be 100 years behind the nation on these drugs. Near everywhere the rest home meds are required to be bubble packed and keep locked up. Elderly patients do not get to keep their meds in their rooms. Rest homes have been notorious for drug and personal property theft including credit cards and cash. It is usually the employees doing the stealing.
