  1. No, they're going for a full repeal.

  2. No one expected any health care without having a job 8 years ago. Obama and the free shirt army keep winning.

  4. Moran did the right thing
You can't save the country financially if we keep going down the road of government pays for everything

I give you Venezuela and rest my case

  5. No Full repel. It's dead, like the GOP. The fools can talk a good game, but they cannot govern. 7 years to come up with an alternative and bupkus! Biggest bunch of losers ever assembled. If they had any shame-which-they do not, they would be embarrassed but sure let's blame the media! Yea! that's the ticket!

  6. Let Obamacare die on its own. No changes, no fixes. Just like the Dems wrote it up. We've read it now, Nancy, and know what's in it, and it ain't pretty.

  7. 3:00 I give you Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, etc. You cherry picked a country with extreme government corruption whose entire economy is based on oil. Hell, in the 90's I spent three days in a Prague hospital with a severe stomach ailment, also known as I had been drinking my across Europe for about a year at this point. Know what three days in the hospital cost me? $68. That is not a typo. Why don't you hear about the Canadians, British, Germans or anyone else demanding to have change in their health care? The French LIVE to protest everything under the sun. Know what they don't protest? Their health care. And let me beat you to the punch. I'm employed and have insurance through work, always have. We have the worst health care system in the world, most inefficient, and get ass-raped by the pharmaceutical companies. We pay the most for care received. It blows me away people defend the most inefficient system in the world. Fix and improve what is broken. Get the goddamn middle-men insurance companies out of the equation. They are useless and a huge part of the problem, driving up insurance costs. Other countries don't let the pharmaceutical industry gang rape them why do we? Why is it other countries can find politicians who aren't bribed by the pharmaceutical companies and beholden to them?

  8. ^ YOU cherry picked with your anecdotal, one-sided experience. U.S. health care is very inefficient, but it's among the best care in the world. I do agree that the U.S. needs to get the middle-men out and increase competition. Single payer will NOT increase competition.

The way that the single payer systems cut costs is through limiting and rationing health care. The well-off British people buy private supplemental health care to address that shortfall. Canada doesn't allow private health care insurance, so many come to U.S. hospitals to get needed procedures rather than getting on a waiting list.

  9. ^^^ I used to live in Seattle and didn't see masses of Canadians crossing the border. Where are these waiting lists for Canadians? I've known lots of Canadians and did business with them on a daily basis, I never knew any of them to wait on a needed procedure. I've had four knee surgeries and know what I did? I scheduled them months in advance. Who wakes up one day, decides they want to get that hip replacement they've been putting off, drive to the hospital only to be denied? Seriously, post links to these waiting lists I'm always hearing about. Reputable links too. If you post something from Rush Limbaugh I'm going to laugh at you. As much as I hear about the terrible Canadian health care there should be innumerable articles about it. So let's see them.

  10. ^^^ get off your ass and research them yourself. If you didn't see them, you weren't paying attention. I don't follow Rush Limbaugh; do you get all your info from Daily Kos or The Nation?

My anecdotal story: my sister-in-law married a Candian and they live in Calgary. 8 month wait for a routine breast exam, which didn't go over well since her family has a history of breast cancer.

There's no free lunch. Single payer restricts access to contain costs for "nonroutine" procedures that many people have come to expect. Remember Obama talking about his grandmother didn't need her artificial hip?
