KANSAS CITY, MO. - Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Kansas City, Kansas. Officials say police responded to a shooting at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday on the 4300 block of Lloyd. Officers found a deceased man inside the home.

A small town in Kansas is reacting after a guilty verdict in a controversial case where Jacob Ewing was charged with assaulting five women and a teenager. Ewing was acquitted in his first trial involving the teenager. However, on Friday, jurors found him guilty.

Ken Novak, a professor of criminology and criminal justice at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, put into context recent trends in homicides and other violent crime in Kansas City. Novak said that homicide rates are lower than at points in the 1990s but that law enforcement needs to make more progress in deterring crime.

  2. Didn't Fox 4 report that Jason Ewing was JR's nephew. I'm sure they reported that as fact in between promoting locally manufactured donut holders made by a cousin of one of their Nigerian cameramen.
