TKC QUESTION: LOW KCPD MORALE CONTRIBUTING TO HOMICIDE SPIKE?!?!

After talking to a few members of the KCPD and other insiders who also chat with police there's a noticable trend in the conversation . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT, SOME DENIZENS OF THE KCPD COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PALTRY LEVEL OF LOCAL SUPPORT FOR THEIR WORK AMID THE CURRENT HOMICIDE CRISIS!!!

A few supporting arguments . . .

- KCPD confronts increasing legal complaints and criticism from local activists.

- The number of Kansas City police on local streets remains at a record low.

- Some insiders claim the department has become increasingly politicized in the aftermath of the former Administration.

- The leadership change and search for a new Chief has become increasingly contentious behind the scenes with the prospect of the Gov. Greitens Administration threatening a move to influence the choice of the next Chief.

- KCPD has been excluded from most civic anti-violence planning. Example: A recent Mayor's task force didn't include one member of law enforcement.

For these reasons and many, many more . . . Our blog community doesn't deny the Ferguson Effect . . . Instead, we simply suggest that there are also many "uniquely Kansas City" factors that have also influenced increased law enforcement complaints.

And none of this is to suggest that police aren't doing their jobs valiantly but simply to acknowledge that cops are just as human as anybody else and their performance is impacted by the level of local support or lack thereof.

You decide . . .

  1. KC support developers, consultants and the streetcar.

Everything else takes a backseat to development goals. Sorry, that's the way it works now.

  2. Don't forget about a lot of protests directly aimed at KCPD over the past three years.

    ReplyDelete
  3. ...and that forte ran the department into the ground while lining his pockets. Assuming the next chief (not Zimmerman) is a good one, it will take years, if not decades, to repair the damage caused by forte.

    2. Very true. Billions of dollars and countless special programs created to help them and they still can't assimilate into civilized society.

  5. I'll give the KCPD more credit than they are probably due, but their moral doesn't effect whether hood rats shoot one another.

    ReplyDelete
  6. All of this starts at home- people keep thinking that they need laws and other people to teach hoodrats how to act. You can pass all the laws you want and throw more money at law enforcement but it won't make a difference until people in the hood realize that they need to actually raise their children into productive adults instead of dropping their asses off at the plaza and roam around bored.

Until then, it's natural selection and these hoodrats are destined to die early or end up in jail.

Also, in the meantime, people shouldn't have to wait for the police. Get yourself a CCW and don't be afraid to defend yourself.

  7. There are people in the community who have no respect for themselves, others, or even for human life.
They behave completely anti-socially and which is counter-productive for themselves and their families.
They finally degenerate to a point where they behave self-destructively and are an ever-present danger to anyone around them, including society at large.
And that "community" consistently offers endless excuses, does little to cooperate with the police or anyone else trying to protect them from these criminals, is "led" by people who are mostly looking out for themselves and their own financial well-being, and tries to make believe that this behavior has anything to do with anyone other than the criminal individuals themselves.
You would think that year after year of having a murder rate fully one third that of New York City, elected officials would place a very high priority on this issue and have the guts to speak candidly about the causes.
    You would be wrong.
And you would think that there would be some leadership in that community who would finally be appalled and disgusted enough to take serious action to be a part of protecting the many decent, hard-working regular folks who are just trying to earn a living and look out for their families.
And you'd be wrong about that too.
    No mysteries here.
Just a total lack of candor and courage.

  8. Anyone who thinks that they should be a cop and enforce the law is dreaming.

Cops are not allowed to enforce the law and the sub human scum who run the streets, thanks to political cowardice and political correctness will encourage even more violence from filthy black felons and the families that raise them, who VOTE FOR A LIVING.

  9. Low morale? or just not a professional police force?
Sorry no safe spaces for cry baby cops.

  10. I use to work at KCPD as a civilian it's not a good place to work.
They treat you like a second class citizen.
So I'm glad to hear that they have now become a victim of their own culture and work environment.

    ReplyDelete
  11. For the most part, black thugs are killing other black thugs. The situation is self policing.

    ReplyDelete

  12. There's no cry baby cops in Kansas City! I'm thankful we have cops on our streets at all after what happened in Ferguson and across the country, courtesy of people like Beyonce, Sly James, and Hillary Clinton( who by the way hates black people.)

I can't blame the police around the country using the Ferguson Effect, isn't that what liberals wanted, to let thugs like Michael Brown have the right to go after cops and shop owners when ever they please?

I stand with the KCPD hats off to you for going to work everyday and dealing with the ignorant trash, and nasty things you have to see.

As for Sly James, sleep well little buddy, you are the cause of all of this and, I hold you reasonable not out Police Officers!!!

  13. It's been a few years since I finally gave up and moved out of KC but my experience with cops in the inner city was not good. They seemed to be made up of bully racists, lesbians and lazy ticket writers. Above all they would not put themselves in harms way. I remember a few who responded professionally but not many. Sad to say but a bad culture is passed down from generation to generation. It will be difficult to change that culture regardless of who is in charge.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Then why are you on this blog if you moved? Glad you shared your "opinion" I don't need your dime-store analysis of the KCPD culture, because it's as worthless as you are. You and the rest of these "keyboard warriors" don't know shit about life as a cop. They talk tough, but believe me, they are the first to shit their pants and cry for the police.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Guess that makes you a keyboard warrior too, doesn't it you fucking cunt? It's not required to know anything about life as a cop to know we don't have near enough good ones.

  17. I think the KCPD is so overstretched and understaffed they don't even give a shit at this point.

I don't blame them for feeling that way. When your up against impossible forces - as in city leadership that could care less about public safety what are you supposed to do?

    ReplyDelete
  18. a leader with experience in new york city under giuliani would be good.

contrary to some sentiments, a good leader should be able to turn things around.

one obstacle may be how the relationship with the idiots at city hall would work. that might orevent a good leader from taking the job.

  19. 8:49 here is what I remember. Six shots in the park across the street so close I heard the click of the firing pin after the last shot. Cops responded by driving by at 35 MPH shining the spotlight. When I complained they drove by again at 25 MPH. Never got out of the car. I saw all kinds of illegal cars with temp tags never being stopped but there were all kinds of speed traps designed to only catch those who could afford to pay fines. I saw cops yelling at bystanders at accident scenes without first directing them. I saw them let teens walk away from a wrecked stolen auto.

To be fair I did see some who were professional and seemed to care about their work. In Hyde Park you have a lot of interaction with police with everything from stabbings to home burglaries. I realize being a cop is a tough job but having a tough job is no excuse for not performing.

  22. I've known and interacted with a lot of North patrol in years past, in that time I haven't come across moral issues other than the constant tackling of a problem which CANNOT be fixed by law enforcement: the ghettoization of the black culture. There is no amount of presence or enforcement that can fix something that has become base instinct in black children; taught by parents, peers, and black community leaders to hate and disrespect the law, authority and whitey. Best advice? White flight. Keep well defined lines between good and "bad" neighborhoods. The black community leaders say cops are racists, whites are racists and want both out of their communities? Fine, just do it. Let them police themselves, let them provide jobs and business themselves, let them provide parks and infrastructure themselves; that is what their community wants. Don't waste others time and lives on the problem.

"TKC QUESTION: LOW KCPD MORALE CONTRIBUTING TO HOMICIDE SPIKE?!?!"

    NO

Killers are the only ones responsible for "homicide spike".

Why is there a homicide spike?

Nobody knows ... Black (free) market forces, i.e. gang warfare/activity?

It seems like mental illness to believe that the police can prevent homicides. How do you keep killers from exercising their free will? Stop blaming the police for not having magical powers.

  26. Right and when crime goes down the Police brag about how their policing programs made a difference. Can't have it both ways.

The young cops are just as good as the old ones because together they form a good team and bridge the technical and generAtional gap by working together. God Blessem all.

  36. FACT Actually witness this happening

    Fri June 2nd 2017

Witnessed a vehicle accident in KCMO, Fairly severe

it took from 2pm to 3:40pm for any KCPD and Emergency responders to show up on a well traveled hiway in KCMO.

plenty of other motorists seen it , as they passed by for that hour and a 1/2 or 1.5 hours with NO Cops or other emergency vehicles !

I couldn't believe it, they finally arrived in the heart of the city on 40 Hwy 1.5 hours later, took em' that long to respond to a pretty severe vehicle accident.

    Absolutely pathetic and disgusting !!

Remember, this is what "supposedly" many of YOU KCMO Dipshits VOTED for when that KCMO Earning Tax came up for VOTE and this is what you actually got in return !!

any of you who voted for that KCMO Earning Tax is a certified Degenerate DUMB FUCK, your PROOF of just how damn Dumb you really are !!!

Offended by being a DUMB FUCK - GOOD !!!!!!
