TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY FAITH COMMUNITIES CONFRONT 'MARCH AGAINST SHARIA' WITH UNITY GATHERING!!!
This week our blog community broke news of the "March against Sharia" touted by some of the more strident supporters of Prez Trump which local mainstream media is still too scared to mention.
The word of the march that many consider Islamophobic circulated quickly among local activist communities opposed to the idea.
And now . . .
CHECK THIS MAINSTREAM KANSAS CITY FAITH COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE TO THE UPCOMING MARCH AGAINST SHARIA!!!
Behind the scenes, we've seen this play out a few times before . . . As more militant aggressive progressives demand direct confrontation with opponents on the other side of the political spectrum, established mainstream groups quickly move into to offer a more peaceful, safe and media friendly alternative to shouting matches with opponents.
And so . . . This get-together as an alternative to a Prez Trump rally directed against Sharia offers a far more friendly message of peace amid the current contentious local discourse.
Take a look:
We Stand Together KC
THIS IS A PEACEFUL INFORMAL GATHERING. This is not a protest, rally or march.
OUR FOCUS IS SOLELY about people coming together to celebrate what we value, to be connected in meaningful ways and to build relationships that will help us create a world that works for all.
LET’S COME TOGETHER IN UNITY! Let us remind Kansas City and our nation that WE STAND TOGETHER for love, generosity, inclusivity, peace, equality, acceptance, and for the health and well-being of our city, by honoring human rights and civil liberties for ALL.
As Mother Teresa said, “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” We need each other and WE STAND TOGETHER is a time to embrace all races, faiths and life philosophies, cultures, genders, ages, sexual identities and culture.
Through interfaith prayers, speakers, music, making connections, and most of all by PEACEFULLY gathering together, we will make our presence known throughout Kansas City that everyone belongs and everyone is welcome, while hate - in any form - is not.
When we see violence or attempts to discriminate against whole groups of people based on faith, life philosophy, race, national origin or ethnicity, we are called to remain steadfast in expanding our awareness of the spiritual values of ANY faith tradition.
This is a simple, informal gathering, please SHARE THIS! It is time to WAKE UP, GROW UP, CLEAN UP and SHOW UP!
