McLain’s Bakery was founded by the McLain family in 1945 and operated on Wornall Road under their ownership until the early 2000's. The bakery became popular during the 50's and 60's and continued to have lines out the door for many decades.

Celebrate Kansas City Hobo Cameras


From June 2-9, 2017, visitors to Central Library could see an exhibit of photographs taken by our patrons experiencing homelessness. The idea came from the monthly Coffee and Conversation put together by Outreach AmeriCorps VISTAs Jason and Emily Luedtke. Meet some of the patrons who took photographs for the exhibit.
