KCPS Consider Crime And Punishment

A novel idea that's worthy of discussion whilst Summer break provides a welcomed respite for all of the horrific school fight videos that offer a peek into academic theory that never holds up in the classroom or hallways . . . Checkit: Why Kansas City Public Schools Are Taking A Trauma-Sensitive Approach To Discipline

  1. Another step down the road of doing absolutely ANYTHING to avoid addressing real problems and issues.
And the worst possible lessons for young people who are just developing their own ideas and attitudes about behavior.
Inconsiderate uncivil behavior in public? That's OK.
Counterproductive behavior and not abiding by the law? That's OK too.
Self-destructive behavior resulting in injury and death to yourself and others? Just the next step on the long road of irresponsibility.
With these kinds of ideas and lack of adult role models, KCPS kids aren't likely to be any more prepared for life socially than they are academically.
An abrogation of responsibility by people who should know better.

  2. Probably the biggest lie that civil rights race baiters believe is that people of different races commit crimes in proportion to their percent of the population. In this story, their conclusive assumption is non-black kids are getting away with bad behavior, because they're not being suspended more than the black kids. That means the race baiters never have to confront the real problems in the black community, such as absence of dads in the kids lives and teenage welfare moms with zero parenting skills.

  3. oh, so lets just all blame the black people. Why is it that every problem we have in Kansas City gets blamed on the black people? Their mothers try as best they can but raisning a family on government assistance is hard to do.

  4. ^^^ were you purposely trying to get a laugh with that comment?

  5. It is politically incorrect to discipline a colored boy or girl and they know it. If you try to administer any type of punishment they scream "racist".

  6. I feel sorry for the schools and the teachers. They are now feeding, clothing, buying supplies, and providing medical care and counseling for their wounded students. Parents (usually just the mom) were probably raised the same way -- in one-parent, violent and unstable homes. They have kids and do the same thing over and over. Schools and teachers can't keep up with generation after generation needing to be fixed. What's the solution? Nobody seems to know the answer.
