Authorities report that an argument possibly led to this latest local killing . . .
KSHB: "A man is dead after a shooting in Kansas City early Monday morning. Just before 2 a.m., officers were called to the 3800 block of E. 71st Street on a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died."
Last year there were only 47 homicide at this date on the calendar as the local murder count has risen by 38% so far this year and now outpaces most of the nation.

The mayor has been silent on this for several months. Jean Peters Baker, Sly James and Darryl Forte promised a reduction in crime because of the NOVA bullshit. In fact after a brief reduction in 2014 they took full credit for the down numbers. They need to be held accountable for this incredible surge. They continue to maintain that a crime reduction initiative led by a professor and some number crunchers will save this city.
ReplyDeleteIt is time to admit that NOVA was an utter failure, investigate who was responsible for bringing this garbage science to Kansas City and hold them accountable. When will enough be enough? At this rate Kansas City may well hit 160-170 homicides, and no one is listening. Mayor James is not only mayor, but sits on the police board. He alone had the influence to hold himself and the administration accountable. He refused to do it, in fact, had Jolie Justus author a report on crime in Kansas City. That committee didn't actually include anyone with a shred of experience in criminal justice and enforcement. Again, Mayor James appointed that failed committee.
While the bodies keep fallen by the mayor and council have remained silent. I hope this new police board changes things and ignores the wasted years of the NOVA program.
