  2. QUESTION:

Why in the world would a sports reporter wear a suit and tie?

Few things are dumber in life than seeing someone at a ball game, or reporting on it, while wearing a business suit!

Have you noticed KSHB's decline? Their early 4PM "news" is nothing more than gossipy junk-food trash. Then, their main anchors are a husband/wife duo who look like they got out of college last year! Their "chief meteorologist" does dog tricks on-air! It's a freaking zoo over there.

We gave up the daily newspaper years ago because they went to Hell. Now, we've pretty much given up on local TV news because: 1) it's not real local coverage 2) their political bias is strong and ever-present 3) most of the news-readers are unintelligent bobbleheads 4) they never criticize City Hall, because they're essentially working as a propaganda arm for the status quo.

  3. Forget high standards here. Lower your expectations, as low as humanly possible and you'll be fine.

  4. James Howard Kunstler is the only news you need to follow.

It's hard to believe that there are any rubes out there still watching local newscasts.

  5. Most people watch local news so they can get the dirt on local crime and murders, weather and highlights in sports if something big happened. No more no less. People replaced local news with the internet, message boards or talk radio when it comes to sports. In the morning the only reason I and others watch the news is for the eye candy. But I don't go to Abby Eden for hard hitting journalism.
