TKC MUST SEE!!! NEW KANSAS CITY AIRPORT CAMPAIGN BEGINS: A BETTER KCI

This Sunday morning we offer equal time and FIRST look at how local biz plans on convincing Kansas City to vote for a new airport.

The advert takes a confident and reassuring tone in rehashing longstanding arguments in favor of building anew . . . This time accompanied with impressive local stock footage and some old school clips of the current MCI configuration in order to highlight the need for an update . . .

Even better, some computer animated graphics hints at a closer look at new KCI plan on the way.

Here's the advert:

And so, we'll be seeing this kind of local rhetoric a lot between now and November given that new airport supporters have more money then God to back up their campaign to convince Kansas City.

Did the ad work? Did it inspire? Will it change minds???

You decide . . .

  1. Stifle yourself Edith5/28/17, 6:51 AM

don't forget mail and radio ads as well. By Halloween every KC resident will be able to recite the pitch from memory.

They aren't playing around this time.

  2. Glad they showed the brilliantly designed stadiums and how through smart renovation, they remain state of the art.

Commercial looked more like a TIF ad

  3. There is a chance I might vote yes:
    1. If Sly is still lying every time he speaks, I'll vote no.
    2. If Sly is still a negro, I'll vote no..

  4. As long as the campaign doesn't use unsolicited bulk email.

  5. This has caught the attention of the Trump administration. Continue to reports on this Communist regime that wants to have no-bid contracts.
Stalin would be proud of Sly.

  6. Starting off, a stentorian voice invokes the coming of a type of war.

    "How did we get here?"

This war, this conflict, is, as always, over wealth, power and sinecure. I am sure Helen of fuckin Troy was hot, but that shit was an anomaly. It's money, money, money in combination with counting 21st century coup.

6:58 mentions the stadiums. Look they are nice, but so many reports, like the Cato Institute, tell us that what professional sports teams bring to any city is money. Not for you, for the owners and the players. Not only that, that fuckin stadium should have been built downtown if they were going to spend any money at all.

It is, just typical of KC, that we cough up cash for initiatives, landmarks and expensive ziggurats that are supposed to benefit the local middle class, which end up costing the local middle class and their great grandchildren Croesus amounts of cash after broken promises, budget busting bullshit and a "kick the can down the road" financial plan.

Kansas City, the third (I think) largest city in the US in Square Miles, is a round peg in a square hole when compared to other cities. That comparison to other cities, is the go to argument when trying to convince the locals that we need to, once again max out our fuckin credit cards.

Every single time, we hear that we are NOT going to pay for it. Out of town visitors, flyers, sports patrons, people from all over who are definitely NOT Kansas City residents will pay for it.

    It will be FREE!!!!

I like Sprint Center, the stadiums et al, but there is a categorical history of dishonesty and legerdemain that should leave all KC Citizens with a distinct feeling of still another desultory effort by politicians and PR folks (That video is killer, it will work, we are doomed.) whom, after the project is done, leave us all for the higher ground, they always lived on, while we bear the crucible of a Sisyphean tax burden brought on by these projects, in a town, where we are laying off cops, can't fix the streets and sewers.

This, is an especially brutal beating. That fuckin airport is dingy and old. Who fuckin cares? Jesus, it kicks ass!!! You are in and out in a flash. It is like a trusty old Chevy 350 Pick Up truck that just runs like a top and works like a dream come true.

So, of course, in true KC fashion, let's fuck it all up, so that the swells can tell all their buddies when they fly in for Golf at the County Club, how great it is.

  7. A better and bigger bank account for local politico's and their favorite local engineering companies.

  8. Chuck is right, FIX and REPAIR the existing airport.

Don't lie and say that it is impossible to fix it, because it is NOT impossible to fix it.

    It works!

By the way did you spend all the go bond money on getting all the commercials and advertisement for the slie james international airport????

    ReplyDelete
  13. They left out the eastside of KC. Someone needs to make a video of how the 99% of KC lives with bad roads, sidewalks and sidewalks. The real KC.

    ReplyDelete
  14. mayor slimeball has 100% focus on the slie james international airport because you dumb azz people aint smart nough to know you need this. by the way he has zero interest in the rest of killa city, when was the last time he said anything about the crime?

  15. Democrat Sly, his wealthy Democrat mega-donors, and Democrat greedy union slobs all in on scamming the taxpayers...

    it's what they do.

  16. There will be only 36 gates we have around 90 now 60 are active if airlines want to expand there service with new gates there will be no room for expansion with the new airport they will ask for new money for expansion.

  17. If hype and outright lies were gold, KCMO would be Eldorado.
Instead it's the laughing stock of,not only the mid-west, but the entire country.
Does Sly actually KNOW what others think of his stories, claims, and self-importance?
Looks like the long-awaited plunge in James stock is finally well underway.
Even some of the rats are leaving the ship.

  18. Start traveling first class on your flight when the new airport opens you, will be used to the high fee's

  19. If anybody does due diligence on the financial structure of the crony deal, they'll realize it's an inferior solution with significant risks attached.

Right now, nobody seems concerned about due diligence on the "unique" financing.

Bizarre, but it's Kansas City, Missouri.

    ReplyDelete
  20. ^^^ +1

Crooked deal. Just another sign that KCMO is on the take.
