The Kansas City Police Department is investigating after a shooting and a standoff near 83rd and Woodland Monday afternoon. Officers were originally dispatched to the area to investigate a shots fired call. Witnesses on the scene said two people had been shooting at each other.

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- New details emerge in a deadly crash on I-70 at Little Blue Parkway Saturday. Adrienne Afrisio died when a car hit her as she stood on the shoulder, watching a tow truck load her van onto its bed. The tow truck driver is still hospitalized.

Northland Costco finally has opening date

Costco will open its new Northland location on Thursday, according to its website. Costco, a warehouse membership club, had long been rumored to be opening a Northland location. But it wasn't until March 2016 that a location was finally confirmed by the Kansas City and Clay and Platte county officials, developer MD Management and the Platte County R-3 School District.
