And that's not counting the lawsuits that keep piling up. Take a look:
How much will it cost to fix dangerous, filthy Jackson County jail? $300M might do it
The men and women who live or work in the red-brick tower with slits for windows in downtown Kansas City don't often generate much public sympathy. Yet their stories of life inside the Jackson County jail are sometimes horrific.
Isn't there a vulnerability to Federal action, or perhaps it's already in motion. But this is not going to fly long-term.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the self funding contractors at when you need one?
ReplyDeleteForget the airport, this would be wonderful legacy for the mayor.
ReplyDeleteThe Jackson County jail isn't the responsibility of the Kansas City mayor. Bur it doesn't look like any of the county electeds want to be held accountable for this. Frank White only thinks this is a problem because people are finding out what's going behind the closed doors at the jail. Sharp will do an interview about this. Peters Baker will too. But not the guy ultimately responsible for this?
ReplyDeleteCounty maybe shouldn't have spent 50,000,000 dollars on a trail.
ReplyDeleteThis is unconstitutional on the face of it.
ReplyDeleteA big problem.
Where is the ACLU?
Who the fuck is advising Frank White? Won't give an interview on a topic that is costing the taxpayers millions?
ReplyDeleteKansas City leadership is focused on shiny new stuff, but the day-to-day management things, they're not interested in and/or not competent to address, e.g., the crime wave and the jail.
ReplyDeleteProperty taxes get raised for this shit? Time to put up the tents, order the pink underwear and call Sheriff Joe.
ReplyDeleteHall those negroes out into the parking lot and hang them.
ReplyDeleteProblem solved.
Does this mean $300 million of the $800 million bond issue is already allocated?
ReplyDeleteLet's move the jail over with the new humane society.
ReplyDeleteHow many jails are in Jackson, Clay and Platte counties between the cities, counties and state? How about we pool the resources and start executing more thugs rapists and thieves. Fuck em. If they can't stay out of trouble we should stop using up good tax dollars and air.
ReplyDelete11:03 No need for trials, huh? Let's just line the accused up against the wall and shoot them.
ReplyDelete^^^^ But let the murderer's live? I agree. Great plan!
