How should Kansas City pay for water services? That was the question before the mayoral-appointed Cost of Service Task Force. Now, after more than year of public meetings, the group is preparing to make their recommendations.

The Task Force has held eleven public meetings since April 2016. The Task Force will meet again on May 9th and on June 6th before providing final recommendations to the City Council. Customers with comments about the funding of water, wastewater, and stormwater services are invited to share their feedback with the task force at the next meeting.

What: Cost of Service Task Force Meeting
When: Tuesday, May 9th, 4pm – 7pm
Where: Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, 3700 Blue Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64130

The issue of water affordability is not unique to Kansas City, it has become a national conversation. The federal government provides billing assistance programs for other utilities, but not for water and wastewater . . .

  1. People cannot afford to move to KC, the highest water bills in the area(30% higher), highest property tax rates, highest sales tax rates, and of course a 1% earnings tax. Dummocrat economics at work.

  2. And don't forget the double or maybe triple tax hike this fall. County re-assessment, bogus go bond, and street car.

PUT ON YOUR PINK "FUCK ME HAT" AND SUCK IT UP

  3. What happened to the millions of gallons of untreated sewage coming down the Missouri River for the drinking pleasure of K C and the surrounding 30 communities who buy water from Killa City.
Why should KCMO residents pay water rates that have gone up 88%, while the thirty other towns and villages that buy water from KCMO have only experienced a 38% increase?

  4. Change of management please. Then we can talk.

  5. WELCOME to how COMMUNIST Liberals really work and manage,,,,,

They love to Raise TAXES and rates on everything to "Supposedly" support infrastructure, only to find out later those funds were Re' Allocated for some ones pet project or into their personal pockets secretly.

That's how the Communist Liberals work, thru oppression , keeping others down & in the trenches by stealing your money thru higher TAXES on all kinds of bullshit that never go to actually support what they claim in the 1st place !

its all a smoke & mirrors game !!

Best wake up people of KCMO and run the Degenerate low life scumbag commies out of City Hall, before its too late !!!
