Patricia Webb of Lee's Summit was sentenced to eight years in federal prison without parole, after pleading guilty to embezzling more than $1.5 million from Garmin International Inc., Black & Veatch and TriStar Benefit Administrators from 2011 to 2016. Webb, 44, worked as an accountant who typically handled payroll.

OLATHE, Kan. -- Anthony Whitehead, 30, of Kansas City, Mo., is charged in Johnson County, Kan., with one count of attempted kidnapping. According to court documents, he's accused of going into a restaurant and dragging the alleged victim out a first set of doors before being stopped by restaurant employees.

A 19-year-old Raytown man pleaded guilty Tuesday to taking nude pictures of a 7-year-old girl and sharing them on the internet. Cody Lee Davidson pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Kansas City to a charge distributing child pornography over the internet.
