Kansas City New Airport Conversation: NO-BID Paid Cheerleaders Vs. Community
Here's the round-up of an airport talk wherein most of the important questions about alternative plans and THE CORRUPT NO-BID PROCESS were unanswered and a litany of suits looking to get paid seemed to dominate the conversation.
Check a bit of perspective from the comments that offers a ground-level view of the event . ..
"We attended the airport meeting at the Marriott. It was interesting in that at least 7 speakers were there to advocate for their business and/or unions. Of course they were for the single terminal. About 16 speakers were for the deal and 13 or so were against it. One speaker identified herself as a JoCo resident who was embarrassed by her airport. She thought Indianapolis had a much better set-up. We silently urged her to go there - ha ha.
"One speaker asked about alternative ideas - where were they? No answer from the Council or the panel of B&M suits. The usual song & dance with claims that the airlines would pay for the new airport - definitely NOT true."
There's one more conversation on this subject as THE MAYOR AND HIS SUPPORTERS HOPE TO PASS THIS EFFORT WITHOUT THE LEGAL REVIEW COUNCIL PROMISED . . .
