Firefighters work to contain building fire mid-storm

The Kansas City Fire Department was called to battle a large building fire in the middle of a thunderstorm Thursday. The incident happened at a building near 7th and Spruce Thursday night. Around 10 minutes after arriving on the scene, emergency crews were forced to evacuate that structure over concerns of collapse.

  3. Don't underestimate Alex Smith. He has come through in the clutch more than a few times and nobody ever thought he'd make it this far. If he thinks this is his last season in KC then he might be motivated to make it count.

    How's that new police station working out? Pearls on Prospect? Nope, just more random violence, shootings, prostitutes and the usual suspects. Things in that corridor has gotten much worse since the police moved in. We can no longer count how many violent acts have occurred since they unnecessarily uprooted so many people from their homes. And for what?
