TKC Question: Would You Pay 2 Dollars Every Day For The Kansas City Star?!?!

One of you d-bags noted this in the comments about a week ago and I thought it was an April Fool's joke . . . Turns out it's for realz.

The Star raised their prices again and now charges two bucks for daily editions.

Normally, TKC avoids newspaper dispensers because they also substitute as hobos toilets in most parts of Midtown but this one was newly cleaned . . . I guess trying they're really trying sell the premium dead tree merch.

Is this a good value for a regularly published historical document??? Either way, none of the retired newsies who blog when they get bored with greeting customers at Walmart have bothered to discuss this aspect of Dead Tree Media doom, so it's worth a look. You decide . . .

  2. There is nothing in the star other than ads and a few articles that promote whatever the star wants people to believe

  3. No way, Over 700 dollars a year? I could get another laptop and get more info free than they would have.

  4. Why not just call City Hall directly? It's free and it cuts out the middleman.

  5. Given the size of the Star I'm thinking Charmin is cheaper.

  6. The Star pretty much just runs press releases from City Hall and syndicated Associated Press content that can be read online from multiple sources. It's not worth three cents less $2.00.

  7. I can have a homeless guy shit into a paper cup for a dollar... It has the same amount of useful information, but cost half as much. Shit is shit... No matter how much it costs.

  8. It is not worth 10 cents.

  16. CBS local 5 crapped out a self-promotion teevee ad that IMO seems to swipe at POTUS Trump. While showing his image, they tout their supposed "complete" coverage of some specified topics. They list the Prez first 100 Days, Russia, Fake News, and more topics they've mostly put unfavorable spins on when covering Trump.

Notice teevee 5 doesn't list recent economic favorables on topics like recovered jobs, gains on Wall St., cancer therapies advancement, nor technology enhancements WHILE FEATURING PREZ TRUMP POSITIONED WITH PEN IN HAND AT HIS DESK!!!

    CBS slant sux!!!
