TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! FIGHT OVER BROADWAY BRIDGE BEGINS GO BOND MONEY DEBATE AMID MORE TAXES ON THE WAY!!!

Behind the scenes there's already more than a few slap fights over how Kansas City should spend GO BOND cash. The Broadway Bridge could be the biggest question facing locals this year given that MoDOT is tapped out as well and responsibility for this longstanding deferred maintenance might fall upon Kansas City given the recent $800-MILLION election victory.

Here's the word on a Council attempting to put the EPIC expense of impending Broadway Buck O'Neil Bridge repairs back on MoDOT rather than have KCMO pony up any of the cash for possible two year shut down of the river crossing . . .

"A 4th District Council lady is calling neighborhood people trying to get them to go the business session to oppose using GO Bond money on the Broadway Bridge. File this under "elections have consequences." The Council Lady should have specified projects to be listed as an ordinance not resolution. I think in January a TKC tipster stated the list by resolution might as well have been written on toilet paper.

"Sly won the election. I support building a new Broadway Bridge in whatever manner the Mayor deems appropriate. Maybe when renewal of the 1-cent-sales-tax for capital improvements is put on the ballot in August or Nov. they can tighten the language for how the money should be spent."

Tune into the biz session today at 1PM to get a nice and smiley version of the KCMO vs. MoDOT showdown.

  1. MoDot is a pack of fuck-ups...who in their right mind puts manholes in the middle of hiways..Those assholes will be putting stop lights out in the middle of the bridge like whats out on 71 hiway. Like that was going to bring in business to the Prospect corridor....Right...I'll remember that when im low on crack or meth...

  2. "responsibility for this longstanding deferred maintenance might fall upon Kansas City"

So your entire "exclusive" is based on a falsehood? Because it won't fall on KC, and it never will.

  3. Everyone reading this needs to call 8/1/6/3/8/7/2/4/3/9 and repeat what 8:22 said here. That's the number to the desk of "Mr Stoplights" the Modot hack who is a University of Missouri snowflake that a whole bunch of people have been complaining about and demanding be fired for over 7 years now. When you call, get as nasty, profane and hateful as you can.

  4. If you're mad about how the GO-Bonds will be used, then you should have voted NO and forced our "trusted" officials to make better use of the millions and millions of tax dollars they already collect from us.
