  1. Messenger here, don't shoot: At a far suburban parish egg hunt about 20 yrs. ago, with some nephews, nieces, and my own, we saw nasty stuff. Evidently, the old gravel road behind the playground was a lovers' lane, and lusty louts tossed "items" in the former corn field. We told the little kids that the edge of the lot had too much "deer droppings" and "muddy spots" to go egg hunting on. Locked gates, fencing, bright security lights, and cameras went in very soon after. Caveat: Stay right with your littles.
