The dead tree media response to politics in Kansas City downplays the fact that WEED ADVOCATES won the day and gives credit to a litany of special interests groups that aren't as much fun. What's important to note is that the screed fails to note THERE WAS NO ORGANIZED CAMPAIGN OPPOSITION to ANY of these questions. Take a peek:
Editorial: Winners, non-winners and lessons from Kansas City's election are clear
Kansas Citians are still catching their breath after Tuesday's stunning municipal election. It was a big day for "yes." Voters overwhelmingly approved three separate tax increases for three bond issues totaling $800 million over 20 years. They said yes to a one-eighth cent, 10-year sales tax for improvements along the Prospect Corridor.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats rejoicing! Taxpayers scammed again! Mo' free stuff fo' us!
Taxes up, tithes down...in Gubmint we trust.
ReplyDeleteDamn right! 9:29 AM I am rejoining. Rejoicing that if you are a KC resident you have to pay and you should pay. We have had this discussion before, if you don't like it move!
ReplyDeleteMany, many are. :) You can keep your grifter/clown mayor.
DeleteI'm not against taxes.. I'm against $800-million raised with no accountability and a 20 year length... do you have any idea how many Beacon Hills that is?
ReplyDeleteThey bought that election for $1 million. KC homes values went down $5000. KC has the highest taxes, the highest water bills and the highest crime. SKC and Waldo area are going to look like the eastside in 7 to 10 years, most homes will be rental houses. This was no victory for KC.
ReplyDeletemoney for the "Prospect Corridor"?
ReplyDeleteyeaahhh..that's really gonna turn KC around!
The Star can celebrate because they will file bankruptcy before Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteWhen Democrats are in control, cities tend to go soft on crime, reward cronies with public funds, establish hostile business environments, heavily tax the most productive citizens and set up fat pensions for their union friends.
ReplyDeleteBreaking -- City Hall Democrats announce plans to defer infrastructure work,
ReplyDeleteand place entire $800 mil into the 18th and Vine project.
And this is how Kansas City went bankrupt!
ReplyDeleteBuy an AR-15 to protect yourself and your family since it's obvious the KCPD don't have the funds and manpower to protect you and they even admit it.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for anyone who lives, works, or shops in the Nigger-infested shithole that is Kansas City Missouri.
ReplyDelete^^^ I have lived here all my life. Love this city and the people who live here. Been around the world twice with the Navy, and can honestly say this is a beautiful city compared to others across the country. I have Never been scared a day in my life here. I have never been robbed, mugged, or assaulted. I usually go out most weekends too. Westport, the Plaza, mid-town, Brookside, Martini Corner, and anywhere else there is something going on. I guess I don't see what you see, or choose to look at my city with ignorance or hate like you do. If you act or think like a victim, I guess you become one.
ReplyDeleteBecause the crime statistics are just made up! Those people aren't killed, they're sleeping! Mayor Bullhorn didn't have to duck gunfire on the Plaza, it was happy fireworks!
DeleteYou can shut your blinds to keep out the sun, but it's still there. ;)
