KANSAS CITY SEASON OF VIGILS 2017: HUNDREDS OF STUDENT MOURNERS GATHER FOR TRAGIC ROCKHURST SUICIDE TRIBUTE AT LOOSE PARK TONIGHT!!!

At least one thousand high school students from across the metro gathered at Loose Park tonight in a healing ceremony following tragic Rockhurst suicide.
The EPIC gathering of local young people deserves mention for a lot of reasons but primarily because suicide is now trending in the U.S. and stands at a 30-year high.

In covering this event we attempted to maintain a respectful distance but the gathering of hundreds upon hundreds of youngsters, parents and teachers and their cars was a highly noticeable event throughout Midtown Kansas City this evening.
The warm weather and so much ongoing violence throughout Kansas City remind us that this is just one of many vigils that will take place over the next few months. Some critics argue that vigils don't help address the root cause of violence, tragedy and loss . . . We can only hope that the same critics of urban core memorials will respect the mourning of these local youngsters as higher rates of suicide become a very real challenge for younger local generations.

In the final analysis, this kind of unity, compassion and solidarity is an appropriate response to local despair and might be the only hope of preventing further tragedy.
You decide . . .
Very sad. A very real shock to a lot of people in KC.
ReplyDeleteTony before you write about suicide again why not try it
DeleteHello, brought up catholic here..guilt runs deep in the family. It was such a joy as a kid, going through all the motions and hating every bit of it..
ReplyDeleteI walked away from it the second I was old enough to say-THAT'S IT !!...NO MORE...
So much stupidity mother and grandmother tried to push on my brothers and me.
When my younger brother was 15,he was rubbing one out in the bathroom, forgot to lock the door-he was never very slick- my grandmother opens the door, walks in and CATCHES him in the sinful, heinous act.
From that point on she was disgusted with him, would not speak to him and genuinely loathed him. LOL
So,So fucking stupid, I tell you.. poor kid .I feel sorry for him 30 years later
Perhaps garbage like this could fuck a kid up..ya think?? Yes it sure did
Just so fucking needless and silly.
^ get some counseling; it can help you work thru it.
ReplyDeleteReally sad story about this suicide. It's good the students are getting together, people should know there is help out there.

Why is this kid any different. My brother was ten times the man this little fuck was. He bought high dollar rope and left me the receipt. Left 2 Boys and great future. WHY?
ReplyDeleteBoo Hoo, He is going to HELL! Mortal sin!!!
The good news: no one is going to hell.
ReplyDeleteThe bad news: no one is going to heaven.
Suicidal thoughts are a symptom of depression; a treatable illness, not a character defect.
Guilt & blame are optional.
Recovering Catholics are everywhere... hard times growing up catholic in the 70's and 80's...
ReplyDeleteThe suicide rate among faggots is four times that of the normal population. When you factor in that the last two generations of self-centered fucks was raised by reality TV and video games, it's little wonder that the Natural Selection Bus looks like a double-decker from New Delhi.
ReplyDeleteIt's a culture of anything goes and nothing matters, and eventually that message gets through loud and clear to kids whose brains aren't even fully matured yet.
ReplyDeleteNot a lot of mercy in the TKC comments. That's not a surprise, just didn't realize how callous some people are except when it comes to their bullshit politics.
ReplyDeleteBusiness is great in Kansas City. I'm selling a lot of candles this year.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, who was this poor soul?
ReplyDeleterape victim of a faculty member? Closeted gay? or bullying victim?
ReplyDeleteHe was the victim of an absent, uninterested father and broken home.
ReplyDeletePray for him and his family. May he rest in peace.
^^^ can do !
ReplyDeleteIf he went to a school that cost $12,500 a year, he obviously had somebody who cared about him. Rockhurst does have a reputation of intense discipline and rigorous academics, so maybe it got to him. Or maybe he was just super depressed. I don't think everyone can fit in at rockhurst, but it is hard to say.
ReplyDeletePeople who commit suicide aren't going to hell. They are already there.
ReplyDeletesuicide is trending because kids are being raised pussies by a bunch of goddam cucks
ReplyDeleteLet's hope ^^^ raise yours that same way.
ReplyDeleteWell 8:24PM, it takes a goddam cuck to know one. At least that's what your wife says when her mouth isn't full.
