  1. There is nothing essential about public broadcasting. It is amateur at best and no doubt it is excessively left wing. Let the libtards throw funds raisers if they wish top keep this nationwide mouthpiece on the air. The days of free liberal pandering, brainwashing and advertising perspectives, at the tax payers' expense, should have ended decades ago.

  3. The way PBS acted during the elections- the things they said and were nasty. No funding for you. Not objetive, not true, and not educational.

  4. So, we're going to have to pay for it. Like one Europe? Then people will never watch it again. Social media will be the first place one will go to. And the world goes round and round. You want this kinda thing? Pay for it. This is the Teflon Don Era. You want it, pay for it.

  5. When PBS started, we had 3 television networks/stations. Now we have 300 or more. That programming that is worth watching has plenty of outlets now. It is time to get off the Federal heroin, folks.

........and Mr. Kuehl decided to personally contribute to the KC community by residing in LEAWOOD KANSAS!

    Seriously?

  7. Your commenters make a valid point: A community of mostly hillbillies, inbreds and right-wing peckerwoods doesn't really need highbrow TV.

  8. God there are some stupid people as evidenced by the comments above. You stupid monkeys see politics in every little thing. There is no justifiable reason to cut funding to the arts. NONE WHATSOEVER. The amount the Federal Govt spends on arts(including) public broadcasting makes up 0.02 percent of Federal spending (Washington Post, 1/19/17). In 2016, the Government spent $445 million dollars on the Corporation for Public Broadcasting(0.01 percent of govt spending). "Remember, governments don't cut arts funding to save money. They do it when they are afraid of what artists do and say."

Fine, then lets give the same amount of money to Brietbart, it aint much.

  10. I love Trump.

And , what's this finger doing in my chili?

    ReplyDelete
  11. .01 percent here, .01 percent there, pretty soon you're talking about real money. Since it's so little, the "artists" surely won't miss it. The rest of us can pay the artists what we think the stuff they do and say is worth.

That old argument about "it's a small part of government funding" is getting old
That's not the point at all
The "arts" are such a diverse medium that to pay for one type of art abd not another is silly
PBS has run it's course. It has become another example of an idea that started out as good idea for everyone but over time has turned into advocating for politics for the left
That's just obvious when you watch the programming
The truth is, taxpayers shouldn't pay for a program that only serves a small number if people. And that goes for the thousands of other taxpayer funded nonsense out tgere

  13. ^^^Idiot right there.^^^ PBS has not run it's course. Sesame Street is still a big source of education to a whole lot of children. The public is served by having PBS. It provides a tremendous service to parents as well as quality television that is not shown anywhere else. It does not advocate for the left. That's a failed argument that has no basis in reality whatsoever. I defy to show me one instance of PBS advocating for the left. You understand what public television is don't you? Your idiotic argument about taxpayers not having to pay for a program that serves a small number of people is absolute horseshit. That point can be mad for anything. I myself have no problems with the govt. funding arts and in particular public broadcasting, but then, I am human being and not a simpleton regurgitating GOP talking points that I don't really understand all that well in the first place. Right Silvestor?

  14. PBS is money well spent.

  15. You're the idiot, 1:47. Sesame Street moved to HBO in January 2016. PBS now shows Sesame Street reruns 9 months after they're first shown on HBO.

    ReplyDelete
  16. So what????^^^What difference does it make when they are shown buffoon? That's why it is still important, most poor people do not have HBO you simpleton. God you people are idiots. This is not political. Quit making it so.

    ReplyDelete
  17. ^^^ since you have a problem with reading comprehension, let me explain it to you moron. The point is, the private sector will buy those PBS shows for which there's a demand. Don't give us this bullshit that poor people can't afford cable tv - the vast majority do, along with their cell phones and other items that were once considered luxuries. YOU need to stop dispensing the simplistic progressive talking points.

    ReplyDelete
  18. ^^^Where do these idiots come from? The majority of poor people have cable? Where did you get that from besides your ass you stupid simp? If you don't have anything to say, maybe don't say anything. Stop dispensing right wing idiotology.

  19. Seems like they wouldn't use the obvious content reveal "Pure Bull Shit". Let our country's Socialists pay for their own programming. Governnment funding results in the opposite of "art". Leftist propaganda is the result.

  20. ^. Get out of your parents' suburban house, 7:58, and you can increase your single digit IQ. You are truly a fucking tool.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 9:46PM Is that the best you've got? Parents suburban house? Where the fuck did you get that, & what the fuck does that even mean? God you old white degenerate geezers are truly sad & pathetic..but your posts are high comedy. Keep it coming gramps.

  22. ^ you berate stereotypes, then you use them yourself? What a HYPOTHETICAL piece of shit you are. Go back to your safe zone and suckle your momma's tee, triggered little baby.

    ReplyDelete
  23. ^ HYPOCRITICAL, not hypothetical (auto correct).

    ReplyDelete
  24. ^^^^Either way dude, your too damn old to be posting on here "HYPOTHETICAL" What the fuck is "your mama's tee"????? Goddamn pops, give it a rest. You can't do this. Your fucking awful at it. Mama's tee? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

    ReplyDelete
  25. ^ I'm probably younger than you, stupid. I guarantee that I can bench press more and run faster than you in a half-marathon. And that I'm more educated and more financially successful. Sorry that I got fat fingered on my iPad. And learn the difference between "you're" and "your".

Stay in your sheltered life, oblivious to facts that contradict your progressive talking points. You are a fucking LOSER.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Regarding the "poor people don't have cable" myth: the Census Bureau has data on households living below the poverty level. 96.1% have tv, 87.2% have cable, 83.2% have DVRs, 80.9% have cell phones, and 58.2% have computers.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 1:25 who are you fooling? You are none of the above. Anyone who busts out the old "I'm more educated and more financially successful than you" line is usually neither. Your idiotic posts, especially the hilarious "Parents suburban house" belies your point about being younger than me (trust me pops, you're not). Take your meds gramps, you're getting confused again. Mama's tee!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sorry snowflake, you can have your temper tantrums forever when you get confronted with facts that you can't refute.

You're ( not "your", see the difference, stupid?) just a bitter loser who resorts to ad hominem attacks rather than rational argument. Enjoy the rest of your frustrated life.
