Kansas City Northland Lady Stays Losing Nasty Raw Sewage Bill Fight

Reminder that all the recent hype about the benefits of higher taxes still leaves local homeowners stuck with the bill...

Northland homeowner shocked when city says raw sewage problem is hers to fix and pay for

KANSAS CITY, Mo, -- For the last three weeks Rheta Williams' house of dreams has turned into a nightmare. "I bought this house two years ago and I thought that it was going to be my place to live. It's just devastating to be displaced for so long for something that could have been rectified a long time ago," Williams said.

  1. Our previous house that we moved out of was about to be put on the market to sell. Someone broke in vandalised and stole all that was left. On their way out they kicked the water line. 12 months later still repairing. The water co. Came out due to a neighbor seeing water coming out a window shut off the water. Still getting billed for water usage sewers etc. Think the bill is like 1200 havent used a drop of water. Water co says they have no record of shutting it off. Total bullcrap. WATER CO IS A SCAM SHOULD BE AUDITED

  2. I bet you voted for the $800 million giveaway. So fix it yourself. The city has a train to spend your money on.

  4. Councilman Reed will be right over to fix her problem right after he gets back from Washington where he's been begging Congress to make that bad bad EPA stop trying to force him and his council colleagues to fix the antiquated, poorly maintained, unsanitary, broken down sewer system and let them continue to blow hundreds of millions on toys, legacy projects, and subsidies instead.
    First things first.

  5. If you live in Kansas City limits North of the River, please be aware that City Hall is very angry with the voters up here. We don't support them the way they think we should. So, we are being punished every time there is an issue. Just ask a City Councilperson from either District 3 or 5. They will tell you we are all rich, white and privileged. We don't need anything from the City. All we need to do is pay our taxes and shut the hell up.

  7. Sad to say, but if you are on a septic, home owners are reasonable for repairs, BUT you DO NOT have to pay sewer bills.

So this lady and the other owners need to take the city to court to get money owed them for sewer bills they paid. If a septic system wasn't disclosed to the buyer, they need to go back on the seller and / or the title company.

  8. ^^^^ You mean responsible for repairs. And no they can't go back after the seller /title company because it was all in the closing papers. And you silly person ,you do have to pay sewer and water bills. Do you get water from the local well? What a dumb ass.
