Kansas Governor Sam Brownback to tighten regulations after boy's waterslide death

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - The death of a colleague's son has spurred lawmakers in the often anti-regulation Kansas to toughen the state's inspection requirements for amusement parks. Republican Gov. Sam Brownback said he plans to sign legislation on Monday that will strengthen amusement park regulations. The bill passed the House and Senate by wide margins.

  1. What do you mean, "strengthen regulations"? There is NO state regulation of amusement death rides. It's fucking Kansas.

  2. Given that driving and texting causes more car accidents and traffic deaths that DUI or any other cause maybe we could save thousands of lives on the street and highways by passing a few laws restricting those fucking killer phones. Pretty easy to play political football with crap that has almost zero effect compared to shit that should require no debate whatsoever. Of course your 16 year old being denied the right to text while driving is just fucking barbaric and incomprehensible, right folks?

  3. ^^^You are an idiot and a liar. According to the NTSA (you can check their site) Texting drivers killed 3,477 people in 2015. DUI deaths were 10,265 in 2015. I don't know what point you are trying to prove, but you failed miserably. Fucking liar.

  4. To the thousands without health care by denying Medicare expansion - pound sand.

Untrained & unlicensed conceal carry allowed on campuses to mix with binge drinking and increasing suicide trends - go arm yourselves.

One dead family member within the legislature? That's a regulation that can get swift attention.
