Bad news as the real estate season of selling approaches and this high-priced enclave continues to endure rising crime:

Brookside man robbed at gunpoint while walking dog

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Brookside man came face-to-face with a gun-wielding robber just feet from his home. The victim says the crook tricked him and then robbed him at gunpoint.

  1. Buy a 45acp and carry it when ever you leave your home

  2. You pay half a mil for an old house and can't even walk your dog in peace?

  3. What's "tricked him" mean? Did the Amish hard-working youth walk up, start a conversation and use a bit o' sleight of hand to take his watch? I would suspect the Amish 'ute walked up gun in hand and said gimme dat money so I don't hafta report it as income an git taxed.

  4. I have it from a reliable source it was a pacific islander.wearing a straw skirt and dancing throughout the robbery. Gee whiz, wonder if the victim mentioned that?? SMH at the damn media

  5. Here's a shocker: last Friday on the 11a.m. midday newscast, Fox4's Cynthia Newsome reported that two utilities workers were shot by a man in St. Louis (like we got plenty of KC crap and crime to report). Then suddenly she started over on the details, with some stammering through the descriptions of the two workers as WHITE, and the shooter being BLACK. Newsome finished with stating that the possibility of it being a HATE CRIME was being investigated.

THE SKY IS FALLING!!! TV4 REPORTED REAL NEWS WITH ACTUAL FACTUAL F'N DETAILS!!! WTF???

I was wondering if she stuttered somewhat over this short reporting because the 'prompter was blurry, her own vision fuzzied a bit, or this piece got inserted without a preview and THE RARITY OF CANDID REPORTS ON THE RACE OF PERPS AND VICTIMS (when there's no pic/vid) CAUGHT HER BY SURPRISE. Hmmmmmm.

  6. Get a gun. Your tax dollars don't cover personal security issues in thug boon town KC.

  7. Most of the people who live in Brookside have yards. It's not exactly like they live in high rises and have to walk their dogs to poop.

  8. ^^^ eff we're in trouble... Is that the 'best' you can come up with? Seriously? They should exercise their dogs by walking them around their back yards? If its the defecation issue, as most animals are wont to shit whenever they please, my experience in Brookside and other affluent communities is that we carry bags around to pick up said waste after it happens. I for one applaud this brave citizen for venturing out from his backyard exercise to be held up by those funny little amish chaps. In a tragic way, he kept that crime from occurring in his own yard or that of his neighbors.

Shoot, seriously, he should've stayed in his yard!?!?! I can not wrap my mind around the liberal thought process. To borrow a phrase of the millennials, OMG.

  9. South Plaza, Brookside and Waldo are easy pickings for the bad guys. The residents think they live in a safe place because they have nice houses, parks, etc. Bad guys are mobile and opportunists. Spot a victim, rob a victim. The guy is lucky this dude didn't shoot him and his dog.

  10. ^^^the dog, not the owner, in the yard. And fenced preferably.

  12. 151 is Correct There mobile they can get off the highway and Rob and be in central kansas or central missouri in a few hours there have been many cases where the robbers live a hundred miles away

  13. I like Brookside but won't live there, too close to Troost and the black plague that populates it. Most Brooksiders are easy targets because in efforts to claim they're not racist, they lie to themselves about the realities of the violent black race. Brookside, Hyde Park, and the Plaza are just too close to the black animals. I'll go there but I won't live there.

  14. Completely agree with some previous posters ... It blows my mind that anyone would feel any value with a home purchase in BKS. Frequent crime, yards from the hood and poor police protection. And that's not even considering the crumbling infrastructure and awful public schools.
