So, STAY TUNED for a few surprises from our coverage as the Mayor makes one more "State Of The City" sales pitch to increase taxes on Kansas City property owners.

  1. MSM doesn't care about sly because most of them live in JoCo.

That has been the case for the past 30 years.

Get over it, Sly is a marginal local figure at best. Just good for a laugh and a few quotes. Nothing more.

Marginal. Excuse me? The Mayor has the biggest police force and the biggest budget in the metro area. I know Johnson County people like to overstate their place in the world, but those horrible smaller cities are really just tiny towns that wouldn't be able to exist without KCMO. Deal with it.

I'm not expecting much from Sly. He has his good points and he has been a great salesman for the the city but what has accomplished other than the streetcar?

    Crime is up.

    Taxes are way up.

And it's hard to argue that KC is a better place because of his time in office.

Worst of all, he wants to destroy the airport which is one of the few things about Kansas City that still works.

  5. Hey 9:25, the state runs the KCMO police dept. Budgets? Well, those smaller cities you think cant survive without KCMO are doing well without KCMO. Actually, if JOCO didnt exist KCMO would be dead. Tax revenues from the sports games, power and light, etc. I could go on forever.

  6. ^^^ JoCo nothing. Jackson County pays for the taxes of the stadiums. Power and light loses money and KCMO picks up the tab.

We're subsidizing JoCo. We need to STOP.

  7. Who uses the stadiums and Power and Light? JOCO. They pay the taxes.

  8. I'm voting YES and it's going to pass because most of the people in this city can't be bothered to vote, and I always show. I like it when less than 15% of registered voters turn out. That means I get to decide who is elected and whatever laws I want get passed. I have seen too many asshole conservatives on this blog bloviate for too long. I'm going to access all of you who live in Kansas City this tax because you all need to pay more taxes. None of you good-for-nothing bastards pay your fair share, so now you will.
