People fly on airlines because they want to get from one place to another.

The metro's population is increasing and the economy is in pretty good shape, so more people are flying.
Only the swells at city hall who are looking for yet another legacy project and the engineering and construction firms who would cash in big-time on a billion dollar project continue to press and look for any justification for a new KCI terminal.
Lower the murder rate, fix the streets, provide some oversight for the water department.
Do your jobs.

ReplyDeleteI don't remember the exact words, but the newspaper is still claiming that the airlines are going to chip in and help with the cost of a new one-terminal airport. I don't think any "chipping in" is going to occur. In fact, I'll bet money that some of the airlines now in business will be disappearing like Braniff and TWA.
ReplyDeletethe airlines might pay for a new airport over time, but they don't really take the risk and therefore don't really pay for it in the common use of such terms.
ReplyDeleteforcexample, in a severe recession, airlines might not honor their leases and might go into bankruptcy to avoid paying. then, the city would know what paying for means. or rather taxpayers would.
We could service one third more flights if the other pod was opened up. We could increase usage by ONE THIRD MORE with just cleaning and maintenance. It is not only a lie that we need a new airport it is a MANUFACTURED LIE by contractors and politicians padding their pockets.
ReplyDelete^^^ & 3/18/17, 6:25 PM; I just can't believe y'all. I reglarly go to the airport to hang out and eat. I've been askin for a movee theater for YEARS to complete my entertainment needs. Family back east keeps telling me the'll visit if we have a mor better airport.
