Established as a political payout, already losing money before its doors ever open and built on a FAILED location . . . Here's a City Hall recipe for disaster that's not quite as innovative as other efforts to conquer the so-called urban core food desert. Checkit:

City leaders break ground on $13 million redevelopment of Linwood Shopping Center

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The corner of Linwood and Prospect is getting new life with a $13 million redevelopment project, which includes a Sun Fresh grocery store as it's anchor store. On Monday, Councilman Jermaine Reed along with other city leaders helped with the ceremonial ground breaking of the project.

  2. The same people who made money off of the groundbreaking decades before are back again on this yet another groundbreaking deal. Although this project is east of Troost, most of these profiteers do not reside in Kansas City, Missouri and do their grocery shopping in Johnson County.
