Can The Community Save The KCPS???

A bold step amid some forward progress . . . The bright side of the equation is that Missouri education officials don't want students leaving the district so there's a lot of room to navigate the fate of a district that has been trending downward for more than 35 years. Kansas City Public Schools Leader Wants Next Plan To Come From The Community

Supt. Mark Bedell says community feedback should shape Kansas City Public Schools' strategic plan. "We need your voice. We need your assistance. And we need you to have buy-in to this plan," says Bedell, who is in his first year with the district. KCPS already has a master plan.

  1. Here's a plan:
The District is managed in a businesslike way by competent professionals and money is spent for instruction and programs are held to account for results.
    Teachers teach the kids.
Adults with children act as responsible parents to them, emphasize the importance of education, support them in school, and provide some discipline and social skills at home.
The "community" works together to build neighborhoods that support young people and hold them to account for their behavior.
This has certainly not been tried before and might actually have results if it is.
Chances that "the plan" will resemble this? = ZERO

  2. Enjoy your Lynch Law enforcement via 21st Century taxonomy. This isn't a new manipulation of innovation to run this machine called America. Commitment for the betterment of civilization, the science of community, the discreditment of quality education, and maintenance of the educational process for all.
